Maruti Suzuki Launches Smart Maintenance Plan for Private and Commercial Vehicle Owners

New Delhi: Maruti Suzuki India Limited has introduced a new Smart Maintenance Plan, a pre-paid after-sales service offering aimed at giving private and commercial vehicle owners more flexibility in managing maintenance costs.

The Smart Maintenance Plan, or SMP, is available to all Maruti Suzuki customers, including existing owners. Customers can buy the plan either at the time of purchasing a vehicle or later during a visit to any Maruti Suzuki authorised dealer workshop for periodic maintenance.

Under the programme, customers can choose from multiple service configurations depending on their usage and requirements. These include Labour-only, Parts and Labour, Commercial Vehicle Minor Services, Customer Demanded Services, and Engine Oil and Coolants plans.

The company said the plan also offers optional wear-and-tear coverage for select components such as clutch and brake parts. Customers availing SMP can save a minimum of 10 percent on labour costs, with additional savings on parts and consumables. The plan also offers protection against future inflation for services covered under it — a useful feature at a time when even routine maintenance bills can sometimes feel like they have taken a shortcut to the premium segment.

Maruti Suzuki is offering different SMP packages with multiple tenure and mileage options. For private vehicles, plans are available for durations such as 2 years/20,000 km and 5 years/50,000 km, extending up to 10 years/100,000 km. For commercial vehicles, the coverage goes up to 10 years/160,000 km.

The plan has pan-India applicability, allowing customers to avail services at any Maruti Suzuki authorised dealer workshop, regardless of where the plan was purchased. This nationwide access is likely to appeal to owners who frequently travel or operate vehicles across cities.

Hisashi Takeuchi, Managing Director & CEO, Maruti Suzuki India Limited said, “Since inception, our focus has been to deliver complete peace of mind and a truly joyful ownership experience to our customers. As customer expectations continue to evolve towards greater flexibility and personalised solutions, we are introducing the Smart Maintenance Plan. It is a prepaid service offering designed around individual driving needs. Customers can customise service packages while also protect themselves from future fluctuations in service costs by locking in maintenance expenses. Through this initiative, we aim to further enhance convenience, trust and long-term value for our customers.”

The launch of SMP comes as carmakers increasingly focus on after-sales services as a key part of customer retention. With vehicle ownership costs remaining an important factor for Indian buyers, pre-paid maintenance plans are becoming a practical tool for customers looking to plan service expenses more predictably.

For Maruti Suzuki, which has one of the country’s largest authorised service networks, the Smart Maintenance Plan adds another layer to its after-sales ecosystem. For customers, it offers a way to manage future service costs with greater certainty — and perhaps fewer surprises when the service advisor prints the bill.
