Anant Ambani Adds a Touch of Royalty: Buys Rolls-Royce Phantom in ‘Star of India’ Orange — the Rarest Shade

Mumbai — Anant Ambani’s Diwali Eve visit to the Siddhivinayak Temple wasn’t just a spiritual affair — it was a spectacle on wheels. The youngest Ambani scion arrived in a brand-new Rolls-Royce Phantom Series II Extended, painted in an ultra-rare “Star of India Orange”, a shade that is arguably the most unique ever seen on an Indian Rolls-Royce.

This vibrant orange hue harks back to one of Rolls-Royce’s most legendary commissions — the 1934 Phantom II “Star of India”, built for the Maharaja of Rajkot. The original was a saffron-colored seven-seat cabriolet, regarded as a national treasure. Rolls-Royce later showcased a Phantom painted in this same shade at the model’s global launch in 2017, though it was never offered as a regular color option.

Now, decades later, the “Star of India” orange has returned — this time under Mumbai’s festive lights.

A Regal Addition to India’s Most Exclusive Garage

This latest Phantom, priced upwards of ₹15 crore, joins the Ambani family’s fleet of over 15 Rolls-Royce cars, making it one of the most valuable private collections in Asia. From a pink Phantom owned by Nita Ambani to multiple Cullinans in brown, red, purple, and blue, the family’s garage is as colorful as it is opulent.

And now, this new orange Phantom stands as a symbol of both heritage and individuality.

A Statement Against the Monotony

For years, India’s luxury streets have been dominated by white, grey, and black Rolls-Royces. The Ambanis, true to their flair for the extraordinary, are leading the charge toward bold and expressive palettes. As one auto enthusiast put it, “Rolls-Royces were meant to be seen in glorious colors, not hidden in monochrome.”

Power Meets Prestige

Underneath the flamboyant exterior, the Phantom remains the pinnacle of modern craftsmanship. Powered by a 6.75-litre twin-turbocharged V12 (N74B68) engine, the car is a silent giant that glides rather than drives — the kind of machine where every detail, from the starlight headliner to the whisper-quiet cabin, redefines luxury travel.

We don’t know who specced this Phantom — but they certainly deserve applause. The Star of India Orange is more than just a paint job; it’s a nod to royal history, a celebration of individuality, and a perfect reflection of Ambani opulence.

Anant Ambani, you sure know how to buy cars.
