Altroz Goes Platinum: Tata’s Hatchback Bags 5-Star Safety Across Petrol, Diesel, and Even CNG!

Mumbai – The Tata Altroz just pulled off what many hatchbacks can only dream of — getting full marks at Bharat NCAP’s stern examiners, no matter what it’s fueled with. Petrol? 5 stars. Diesel? 5 stars. CNG? Also 5 stars. In fact, it has now become the only CNG-powered car in India that can proudly say: “I’m not just eco-friendly, I’m safe-friendly too.”

With a dazzling 29.65/32 score in adult occupant protection and 44.9/49 in child occupant protection, the Altroz has officially donned the crown of India’s Safest Hatchback. Not bad for a car that first made headlines back in 2020 as the maiden hatchback to score 5 stars under Global NCAP. Clearly, history does repeat itself – only this time with more airbags and a Bharat NCAP certificate.

What’s Cooking Under the Hood (or Tanks)?

The Altroz remains the only premium hatchback in the country to offer three powertrain flavours – Petrol, Diesel, and CNG. The CNG version, thanks to Tata’s twin-cylinder iCNG wizardry, doesn’t just give you a boot to brag about but also now the assurance that you’re sitting in the safest CNG car in India.

Mohan Savarkar, Vice President & Chief Product Officer, Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Ltd., quipped while celebrating the milestone:
“The Altroz has always been about making customers ‘Feel Special’. With 5-star safety across all fuels, it now makes customers feel special and invincible. It’s like ordering a thali and finding out every single dish is a chef’s special.”

More Than Just a Safety Net

Built on Tata’s ALFA architecture with Diamond Strength Safety Shield, the Altroz doesn’t just absorb impacts; it practically glares at them until they back off. Standard goodies across all variants include six airbags, ESP, ISOFIX mounts, a 360° HD camera with blind view monitor, Direct TPMS, SOS assistance, and rain-sensing wipers – because who doesn’t like their wipers to have predictive powers?

And just in case you thought safety was all it offered, the Altroz doubles down with a 10.25-inch Harman infotainment screen, HD digital cluster, voice-enabled sunroof, 65W dual fast chargers (yes, your laptop will love this car too), and lounge-like rear seating. Basically, it’s a hatchback that’s safer than your Wi-Fi password and more premium than your smartphone upgrade plan.

The all-new Altroz isn’t just a car, it’s a three-course safety menu — Petrol, Diesel, and CNG — all served with a side of technology, comfort, and bragging rights. India’s safest hatchback has set a new bar: whether you run on fuel, fumes, or flatulence, safety isn’t optional anymore — it’s standard.
