Gurugram: Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) has once again proven that when it comes to cars, it can fill up order books faster than an iPhone pre-order. The company clocked total sales of 60,501 units in August 2025, split into 44,001 domestic units and 16,500 exports. Clearly, India is not just driving Hyundais, it’s also shipping them off as the nation’s latest hot export—after yoga and masala chai.
Exports Accelerating Like Turbo Mode
Between January and August 2025, HMIL has already exported 1,18,840 units. That’s enough cars to create traffic jams from Mumbai to Munich. What’s more, August alone saw exports surge 21% year-on-year, showing the world that India’s “Make in India” mantra is not just a slogan but also a vehicle with excellent mileage.
Management’s Pitstop Wisdom
Tarun Garg, Whole-time Director and COO of HMIL, commented with the kind of global ambition usually reserved for cricket tournaments:
“Transcending geographical boundaries, we take immense pride in ‘Make in India’ and continue delivering world-class, value-driven products for global markets. Our goal is to make India Hyundai’s largest export hub outside South Korea.”
Which loosely translates to: “K-pop may be South Korea’s biggest cultural export, but Hyundais built in India are definitely a close second.”
Atmanirbhar Bharat, But With Alloy Wheels
HMIL’s consistent growth underscores its role as a strategic manufacturing base for emerging economies. By blending “world-class manufacturing” with India’s “supremely skilled workforce,” the company has ensured that even your neighbourhood mechanic feels like he’s part of a global supply chain.
