New Delhi: Maruti Suzuki India Limited (‘Maruti Suzuki’) has officially begun commercial production at its state-of-the-art facility in Kharkhoda, Haryana. This landmark achievement strengthens India’s position as a global automotive manufacturing powerhouse.
The foundation stone for the Kharkhoda plant was laid virtually by Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi in August 2022, marking the beginning of one of Maruti Suzuki’s most ambitious projects.

To start, the facility will produce the popular compact SUV, Brezza, with an initial annual production capacity of 250,000 units. This expansion enhances Maruti Suzuki’s manufacturing strength, which, including Suzuki Motor Gujarat Private Limited, now boasts a total annual production capability of 2.6 million vehicles.
The Kharkhoda plant is a strategic step towards increasing domestic and global supply, catering to India’s growing demand for personal mobility while reinforcing the country’s ‘Make in India’ vision. With advanced production technologies and sustainability-driven practices, the facility is expected to set new benchmarks in efficiency and innovation.
Maruti Suzuki’s latest move underscores its commitment to expanding its footprint in India’s automotive sector, ensuring greater employment opportunities, economic growth, and a stronger supply chain for the industry.
