ISTANBUL, July 2, 2024 — Turkish Airlines has announced a strategic move to bolster its air cargo operations by ordering four additional Boeing 777 Freighters. This acquisition will triple the airline’s 777 Freighter fleet, raising the total to 12 and adding a significant 408 metric tons to its cargo capacity.

Ali Türk, Chief Cargo Officer of Turkish Airlines, emphasized the importance of this investment: “This expansion is a testament to our commitment to meet the increasing global demand for air freight services. The Boeing 777 Freighters will enhance our operational capabilities and are pivotal in our strategy to lead the global air cargo sector. We aim to provide unparalleled service and efficiency to our customers worldwide.”

The surge in e-commerce and the necessity for reliable global transportation have driven Turkish Airlines’ decision. The new freighters will enable the airline to optimize its operations, reduce costs, and ensure timely delivery of goods to various destinations.
