BharatBenz Expands Service Reach in Uttar Pradesh, Because Trucks Also Deserve a Pit Stop

Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh: BharatBenz has strengthened its presence in Uttar Pradesh’s bustling Bundelkhand region with the inauguration of three new commercial vehicle service workshops at Jhansi, Kabrai, and Chitrakoot. And considering the number of heavily loaded trucks hauling stone, minerals, and construction material across the region every day, this expansion might just save operators from the dreaded “truck breakdown at the worst possible time” situation.

Daimler India Commercial Vehicles (DICV), the Indian arm of Daimler Truck AG, announced that the new facilities will be operated in partnership with PPS Trucking, one of India’s widely spread automobile retail and service groups. Together, the three workshops add over 1.1 lakh sq. ft. of service infrastructure and 18 fully equipped service bays across one of Uttar Pradesh’s busiest heavy-duty trucking corridors.

The largest of the three facilities comes up at Jhansi, spread across 40,000 sq. ft. with 8 service bays, strategically located on the Kanpur–Jhansi Highway (NH 27). This center is expected to support commercial vehicles operating between Kanpur, Banda, Gwalior, and the surrounding mining belts. Meanwhile, Kabrai in Mahoba district gets a massive 60,000 sq. ft. workshop with 7 bays on the Kanpur–Sagar Highway (NH 34), directly catering to one of the state’s biggest stone mining zones. Chitrakoot’s Bharatkoop area receives a smaller but crucial 11,000 sq. ft. workshop with 3 bays for vehicles moving through the mining-heavy Satna, Rewa, and Prayagraj routes.

Collectively, the three facilities can service around 7,500 vehicles annually. BharatBenz says the workshops are equipped with advanced diagnostic systems, modern repair tools, and genuine BharatBenz spare parts to ensure faster turnaround times and reduced downtime for fleet operators. In a business where “time is money” often translates to “truck standing means loss,” the brand clearly wants to keep wheels moving.

Rajiv Chaturvedi, President & Chief Business Officer, Daimler India Commercial Vehicles, said the expansion is aimed at supporting fleet operators in one of India’s most demanding trucking environments.

According to him, Bundelkhand’s mining and infrastructure ecosystem requires high vehicle uptime, and the new workshops are designed to bring service support and genuine spares closer to customers operating in the region. He added that BharatBenz aims to improve operational efficiency and vehicle availability through faster service turnaround.

The company has also deployed 24×7 roadside assistance backed by five mobile reach vans, ensuring stranded trucks won’t have to rely solely on “jugaad engineering” at highway dhabas.

PPS Trucking Managing Director Rajiv Sanghvi stated that the partnership with BharatBenz focuses on customer-centric service and improving support across Bundelkhand’s industrial and mining routes. He noted that the expansion would help improve uptime and profitability for fleet operators while strengthening the service network in the state.

Apart from workshop infrastructure, BharatBenz has also focused on driver-friendly amenities. The facilities feature dedicated rest areas and customer convenience zones, while a team of 64 trained technicians will handle operations across all three centers.

Bundelkhand remains one of India’s key mining regions, known for granite, sandstone, limestone, and bauxite production, making it a critical transportation hub for the construction, cement, and aluminum industries. With thousands of heavy-duty trucks operating daily, service accessibility becomes as important as fuel availability — perhaps slightly more important when a fully loaded truck decides it has had “enough for today.”

The expanded network will provide preventive maintenance, scheduled servicing, on-site repairs, express service options, and improved spare parts availability for BharatBenz trucks and buses. The company says the initiative is aimed at minimizing vehicle downtime and keeping freight movement smooth across Uttar Pradesh’s high-activity transport corridors.
