Mahindra July 2026 Sales Cross 1 Lakh Units as SUVs Grow 20%, Exports Jump 47%

Mumbai: Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (M&M Ltd.) reported total automotive sales of 1,03,860 vehicles in July 2026, up 26% year-on-year, as growth across SUVs, light commercial vehicles, three-wheelers and exports helped the automaker cross the one-lakh-unit mark for the month.

The company’s domestic utility vehicle business remained its largest contributor, with 60,048 SUVs sold during July, an increase of 20% from 49,871 units in the corresponding month last year. Including exports, utility vehicle sales stood at 60,887 units.

Mahindra’s cumulative domestic passenger vehicle sales for the fiscal year through July reached 2,34,793 units, up 16% from 2,01,938 units during the same period a year earlier.

According to Nalinikanth Gollagunta, CEO, Automotive Division, M&M Ltd., “In July we achieved SUV sales of 60048 units delivering growth of 20%. The total vehicle sales stood at 103860, a 26% YoY growth reflecting all-round demand traction across the portfolio.”

Commercial vehicle sales rise 23%

Mahindra’s domestic commercial vehicle sales in the sub-3.5-tonne categories stood at 25,204 units in July, representing growth of 23% year-on-year.

Sales of light commercial vehicles below 2 tonnes increased sharply by 40%, reaching 3,870 units compared with 2,763 units in July last year. Year-to-date sales in the category rose 31% to 13,852 units from 10,571 units.

In the 2-tonne to 3.5-tonne LCV segment, Mahindra sold 21,334 vehicles during July, up 21% from 17,701 units a year earlier. Cumulative sales through July stood at 84,934 units, an increase of 19% over 71,332 units in the comparable period.

The figures for this category include the Bolero Maxx PUP HD 1.9 and HD 2.0.

Three-wheeler sales jump 53%

Three-wheelers were another strong performer during the month. Mahindra recorded domestic sales of 14,538 three-wheelers, including electric three-wheelers, compared with 9,475 units in July last year — a substantial 53% increase.

Year-to-date three-wheeler volumes rose even faster, climbing 69% to 50,793 units from 30,034 units.

The pace suggests Mahindra’s July growth was not solely an SUV story — even if SUVs continue to occupy most of the showroom spotlight.

Exports surge 47%

Mahindra’s exports also recorded a strong July, increasing 47% year-on-year to 4,070 vehicles, against 2,774 units in July last year.

Cumulative exports through July stood at 19,958 units, up 60% from 12,435 units in the year-ago period.

Mahindra said its reported total of 1,03,860 vehicles includes SUVs, light commercial vehicles below 3.5 tonnes, three-wheelers and export volumes.

The utility vehicle sales figures also include volumes recorded by subsidiary Mahindra Electric Automobile Limited, while relevant commercial vehicle and three-wheeler figures include sales by Mahindra Last Mile Mobility Limited.

With double-digit growth in SUVs and commercial vehicles, a sharp expansion in three-wheelers and a 47% jump in exports, Mahindra’s July numbers point to demand being spread across several parts of its automotive portfolio. The broader test will be whether that momentum can be sustained through the coming months as India’s automobile industry heads towards the important festive-season sales period.
