Chennai: MINI has launched the all-new Countryman C in India at an ex-showroom price of ₹47,50,000, with the latest-generation SUV now being locally produced at BMW Group Plant Chennai. Bookings are open across all authorised MINI India dealerships, and deliveries have commenced immediately.
The launch marks a significant shift for MINI in India, as the Countryman C becomes a locally assembled petrol offering aimed at urban luxury buyers seeking the brand’s trademark character in a larger, more family-friendly package. In other words, the MINI has become noticeably less mini — but in the way modern SUV buyers usually appreciate.

Hardeep Singh Brar, President and CEO, BMW Group India said, “The all-new MINI Countryman C is definitively ‘a new kind of Big’. It beautifully evolves the traditional MINI silhouette into a commanding SUV with a bold look and a highly practical cabin tailored for family adventures, all while remaining entirely true to our iconic go-kart feeling. We are thrilled that this car will now be made in India, strategically strengthening the portfolio and offering an absolutely great value proposition. MINI is a highly aspirational brand for modern, urban Indian luxury customers. The Countryman C is tailor-made for individuals who demand robust utility and everyday versatility, but still want to make a distinct, expressive statement. This SUV is sophisticated, charismatically minimalist, and undeniably fun, proving that you can grow up without losing your edge.”
The new MINI Countryman C is available exclusively in the ‘Favoured Pack’. Its ex-showroom price includes GST but excludes road tax, Tax Collected at Source, RTO charges, statutory taxes and fees, local levies and insurance. MINI said prices and options are subject to change without prior notice.
The SUV is being offered in five exterior colours: British Racing Green, Smokey Green, Nanuq White, Chili Red and Slate Blue. A Jet Black roof is standard, along with 19-inch Kaleido Spoke Two-Tone alloy wheels finished in Jet Black and Vibrant Silver. The cabin gets JCW Sports Seats in Vescin Vintage Brown as standard.
BMW India Financial Services is offering customised finance options for the Countryman C under MINI Smart Finance. Monthly instalments start at ₹56,990 with zero down payment. MINI is also offering what it describes as a best-in-segment assured buyback value of up to 66% at the end of three years. Buyers can also finance MINI Service Inclusive, MINI Secure and Extended Warranty packages.
The Countryman C comes with a standard two-year, unlimited-kilometre warranty and two years of 24×7 roadside assistance. MINI said these benefits are transferable with vehicle ownership. Service inclusive plans start from three years or 40,000 km and can be extended up to 10 years or 1,00,000 km. Warranty benefits can also be extended from the third year of ownership up to a maximum of 10 years.
The new Countryman C follows MINI’s latest design language, called “Charismatic Simplicity”. The SUV features a more upright stance, wider wheel arches, flush door handles, an octagonal front grille, edgier LED headlights and redesigned matrix rear lights. MINI says the model offers best-in-class height and ground clearance, giving it a more commanding road presence than earlier Countryman models.
The exterior also features three selectable Signature Modes for the daytime running lights of the LED headlights and the rear lighting units. Each mode includes welcome and goodbye animations, because even lighting now appears to have a sense of occasion.
Inside, the Countryman C places strong emphasis on minimalism and digital features. The centrepiece is a 240 mm circular OLED touchscreen display, known as the MINI Interaction Unit. The cabin uses a chrome-free and leather-free dashboard and door panel layout, with recycled 2D knitted fabric lining. Ambient lighting and projections from the MINI Interaction Unit are used to alter the cabin atmosphere.
The SUV gets electronically adjustable JCW Sports Seats in Vescin Vintage Brown, while the driver’s seat also includes massage functionality through the Active Seat feature. Rear seats can recline by up to 25 degrees and slide by up to 130 mm. Boot space stands at 505 litres and can be expanded to 1,450 litres by folding the rear seats.
Power comes from a petrol engine equipped with the latest MINI TwinPower Turbo technology. The engine produces 115 kW, or 156 hp, and 240 Nm of torque. It is paired with a 7-speed Double Clutch Steptronic Sport transmission.
The Countryman C runs MINI Operating System 9, which is optimised for touchscreen and voice control. The MINI Intelligent Personal Assistant can be activated with the command “Hey MINI” and can control functions such as navigation, telephony and entertainment. The SUV also gets MINI Digital Key Plus, allowing a compatible smartphone to function as a car key through the MINI App.
Other features include a head-up display, Harman Kardon HiFi sound system with 12 speakers, navigation, remote services, remote software upgrades, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, teleservices, in-car weather, intelligent emergency call and a cabin-facing Fisheye Camera for photos and videos with sound.
MINI has also included eight Experience Modes, ranging from the performance-focused Go-Kart Mode to Green Mode and Vivid Mode. These modes adjust the vehicle’s light, sound and graphics settings. A Toggle Bar Island below the display provides access to key driving functions such as start/stop, gear selector, parking brake, experience modes and volume control. A wireless charging area is positioned below it.
The SUV is equipped with assistance features including cruise control and Parking Assistant Plus with a 360-degree camera. Comfort Access allows the vehicle to lock and unlock automatically when it detects the key within 1.5 metres.
MINI said the Countryman C also gets Minimalism technology, including auto start/stop, brake energy recuperation, active cooling air ducts and electromechanical power steering. The alloy wheels use a lightweight design and recycled aluminium.
On the safety front, the all-new MINI Countryman C has secured a five-star Euro NCAP safety rating. Standard safety equipment includes front passenger airbags, side curtain airbags, Brake Assist, three-point seat belts, Dynamic Stability Control, Crash Sensor, Anti-lock Braking System, Cornering Brake Control, rear-view camera, tubeless tyres with tyre pressure indicator and an integrated emergency spare wheel under the load floor. The SUV has a 60-litre fuel tank.
Key highlights of the new MINI Countryman C include its 156 hp petrol engine, 505-1,450 litre boot space, Level 1 ADAS features, panoramic glass sunroof, 19-inch wheels, Favoured trim, Vescin upholstery, Parking Assistant Plus, 360-degree camera, head-up display, 240 mm circular OLED display, MINI OS 9, Digital Key Plus, driver seat massage and interior camera.
With local production now beginning at BMW Group Plant Chennai, the Countryman C strengthens MINI’s India portfolio at a time when luxury buyers are increasingly looking for distinctive SUVs with everyday practicality. For MINI, the challenge is familiar but sharper than before: to grow bigger without letting go of the mischievous charm that made the brand stand apart in the first place.
