Porsche India Names Ashutosh Dixit as Brand Director, Signals Next Phase of Growth in Key Market

In a move that feels a bit like handing over the keys to a finely tuned sports car, Škoda Auto Volkswagen India Private Limited has appointed Ashutosh Dixit as the new Brand Director of Porsche India, effective immediately.

Based in Mumbai, the announcement signals a strategic leadership shift as the German luxury performance brand sharpens its focus on India—a market that’s quickly moving from “emerging” to “irresistible.”

A Veteran Takes the Wheel

Ashutosh Dixit isn’t new to the fast lane. With over 28 years in the automotive industry—and nearly two decades within the Volkswagen Group—he brings a résumé that reads like a global road trip across India, China, and Europe. Most recently, he served as Market Development Director at Porsche Middle East and Africa, where he played a pivotal role in shaping India-specific strategies.

In other words, he already knows the terrain—no GPS required.

Dixit steps into the role previously held by Manolito Vujicic, who has moved on to explore opportunities outside the Group. The company acknowledged his contributions, marking the end of one chapter and the start of another.

Leadership Speaks: Confidence in the New Era

Welcoming the appointment, Manfred Bräunl highlighted Dixit’s deep understanding of both the Porsche brand and the Indian market, noting that his cross-regional leadership experience makes him well-equipped to steer the brand forward.

Echoing the sentiment, Piyush Arora emphasized that Dixit’s familiarity with the Volkswagen ecosystem and customer-centric approach will help strengthen Porsche’s presence in India. He also underlined the company’s commitment to nurturing internal talent—something Dixit’s appointment clearly reflects.

Meanwhile, Jan Bures described the move as the beginning of an “exciting chapter,” pointing to India’s growing strategic importance and the brand’s ambition to deepen customer engagement.

India: The Next Big Performance Track

For Porsche, India is no longer just a niche luxury market—it’s a high-growth arena with increasing appetite for performance, technology, and exclusivity. With a sharpened focus on customer experience, sustainable growth, and an expanding product portfolio, the brand is gearing up for a stronger push.

And with Ashutosh Dixit now behind the wheel, Porsche India seems ready to accelerate—smoothly, swiftly, and perhaps with a hint of that signature flat-six soundtrack in the background.

Because when it comes to luxury performance, timing is everything—and Porsche just made a well-timed gear shift.
