Hyundai Creta Gets a Summer Glow-Up: More Tech, More Comfort, Same Segment Domination

Gurugram: Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) has introduced the all-new Summer Edition variants of the Hyundai Creta, bringing a fresh wave of technology, comfort, and convenience upgrades to India’s best-selling mid-size SUV. And no, this “Summer Edition” doesn’t come with a beach umbrella—but it does promise to keep things cooler where it truly matters: inside the cabin and behind the wheel.

The latest update is aimed at enhancing the ownership experience by democratizing premium features across multiple trims. In typical Hyundai fashion, the move is less about reinventing the wheel and more about making sure every wheel gets a better experience.

A Legacy That Refuses to Take a Break

Since its debut in 2015, the Hyundai Creta has steadily dominated the mid-size SUV segment, amassing over 1.4 million customers and clocking annual sales exceeding 2 lakh units in FY 2025–26. That’s not just popularity—that’s practically a fan club on wheels.

According to Mr. Sunil Moolchandani, National Sales Head at HMIL, the Creta is “not just a product, but a legacy.” And with these Summer Edition upgrades, Hyundai is ensuring that this legacy doesn’t melt under rising customer expectations.

What’s New? More Features, Less FOMO

The Summer Edition introduces meaningful feature additions across select variants, ensuring buyers no longer need to climb too high up the variant ladder to enjoy premium goodies.

The EX Summer Edition now gets essentials like Smart Key and Push Button Start, while the EX(O) Summer Edition goes a step further with Quad Beam LED headlamps, LED tail lamps, Horizon LED DRLs, rear sunshade, and a rear camera with dynamic guidelines—basically, everything you need to look sharp and park smarter.

Moving up, the S(O) and S(O) Knight Summer Editions introduce a Dashcam, a feature that’s increasingly becoming the silent witness to India’s unpredictable roads.

The SX Summer Edition adds a 10.25-inch digital cluster and dashcam, while the SX Premium Summer Edition goes full tech-savvy with Surround View Monitor (SVM), Blind Spot View Monitor (BVM), and front parking sensors—features that make tight parking spots feel less like a boss battle.

Dashcam: Your New Co-Driver (Minus the Backseat Driving)

One of the standout additions is the integrated dashcam system, offering multiple recording modes including driving, emergency events, vacation recording, on-demand video, and even photo capture. It also allows instant video downloads to mobile devices via a dedicated app—because in today’s world, if it’s not on your phone, did it even happen?

Hyundai’s Strategy: Keep It Fresh, Keep It Relevant

With the Summer Edition, Hyundai isn’t chasing trends—it’s quietly setting them. By pushing premium features into more accessible variants, the company is reinforcing the Creta’s stronghold in the segment while catering to evolving customer expectations around safety, connectivity, and convenience.

In a market where competition is heating up faster than an Indian summer afternoon, the Creta’s latest update ensures it stays comfortably in the shade—cool, composed, and still very much in charge.

Bottom line: The Hyundai Creta Summer Edition may not lower the temperature outside, but inside the car, things just got a lot cooler.
