Mahindra’s SUV Double Strike: XEV 9S and XUV 7XO Rack Up 93,689 Bookings, ₹20,500 Crore in Just Hours

Mumbai: If booking numbers were applause, Mahindra’s latest SUV duo would be taking a very long bow right now. Mahindra today announced that its newest offerings—the all-electric XEV 9S and the petrol-diesel XUV 7XO—have together recorded a massive 93,689 bookings till 2:00 pm on January 14, 2026, translating into a booking value of over ₹20,500 crore (calculated at ex-showroom prices).

In simple terms: India saw two new Mahindras… and promptly reached for its wallets.

SUVs, Served Two Ways: Plugged-In and Piston-Powered

Mahindra has been steering India’s SUV growth story for years, and this latest booking milestone only reinforces that reputation. The XEV 9S caters to buyers ready to go silent-but-quick with electric mobility, while the XUV 7XO keeps the traditionalists happy with petrol and diesel options—proving that Mahindra believes in freedom of choice, whether it’s electrons or engine oil.

The response also underlines a clear trend: Indian customers don’t just want SUVs anymore—they want authentic SUVs, with presence, performance, and purpose. And judging by the numbers, Mahindra seems to have hit the sweet spot.

Delivery Timelines (Because Waiting Is the Hardest Part)

Mahindra has confirmed a phased delivery plan across dealerships:

  • XEV 9S: Deliveries to begin from the week of January 26, 2026
  • XUV 7XO: Deliveries have already commenced from today

Which means some customers are already driving home, while others are busy refreshing their order status and explaining the booking amount to their families.

The Bigger Picture

With bookings worth over ₹20,500 crore in a matter of hours, Mahindra’s strategy of offering strong products across electric, petrol, and diesel powertrains appears to be paying off handsomely. The company isn’t just riding the SUV wave—it’s shaping it, one high-demand launch at a time.
