Mumbai – Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (M&M Ltd.), the homegrown powerhouse of SUVs and rugged charm, has kicked off FY26 with a throttle-wide-open performance. The company clocked total auto sales of 84,170 vehicles in April 2025 — a 19% jump compared to the same month last year.
Leading the charge like a Scorpio in full sprint, Mahindra’s SUV segment alone sold 52,330 units domestically, marking a muscular 28% growth. Including exports, utility vehicle sales hit 54,860 units, further asserting the brand’s dominance in India’s SUV playground.
On the commercial front, Mahindra sold 22,989 vehicles in the domestic market, proving that their pickups and haulers are just as much at home on job sites as their SUVs are on winding mountain roads.
Commenting on the stellar start to the fiscal year, Veejay Nakra, President of the Automotive Division, said, “We’ve started the year on a strong note, and these numbers are a testament to both our robust portfolio and our growing customer connect. Our SUVs continue to win hearts, and wheels, across the country.”
From rugged rural roads to plush city streets, Mahindra seems to have cracked the code: build vehicles as tough as their sales charts. As summer heats up, Mahindra’s momentum suggests it’s not just the weather that’s running hot.
