Hyderabad’s Harshika Revs Up as First Indian to Snag Lightning-Fast Lotus Eletre R

In a striking display of speed and luxury, Hyderabad’s own Harshika Rao has become the proud owner of India’s first Lotus Eletre R, a marvel of electric vehicle (EV) engineering. Sporting a dazzling Natron Red finish, this powerhouse packs a punch with an astounding 905 bhp, catapulting from 0 to 100 kmph in a mere 2.7 seconds. The keys to this electric dream were handed over by Aaditya S Naik and Krishna Vungarala, marking a significant milestone in India’s automotive history.

Priced at a cool INR 2.99 crore Ex-Showroom, the Lotus Eletre R is not just about its breathtaking speed and a top speed of 265 kmph. This full-size luxury crossover SUV, Lotus Cars’ first foray into the production SUV market, is also a technological masterpiece. It boasts an impressive 112 kWh battery, delivering both power and endurance.

Unveiled on March 29, 2022, the Lotus Eletre signifies a new chapter for the British sports car manufacturer. Not only is it their inaugural production SUV, but it also marks the company’s first vehicle produced in China. The design of this electrifying vehicle was conceived at the Geely Design Studio in Coventry and brought to life in Wuhan, China.

A notable feature of the Lotus Eletre R is its pioneering deployable LIDAR technology. This world-first in a production car paves the way for end-to-end autonomous driving (AD) capabilities. Furthermore, integrated Over-The-Air (OTA) software update capability ensures that the Eletre R stays at the forefront of technology, ready to embrace more advanced levels of AD as soon as market regulations permit.

Harshika Rao’s new ride is more than just a car; it’s a statement – a blend of blistering speed, cutting-edge technology, and luxurious design. As the first Lotus of its kind in India, it sets a high bar for electric luxury SUVs in the country.
