Driving Innovation: JSW MG Motor India Backs AI Startups for Electric Mobility Revolution

Gurugram, October 10, 2024: JSW MG Motor India has taken a significant step towards transforming electric mobility by accelerating seven promising AI-focused startups under its MG Developer Program (MGDP) Season 5.0. The initiative, aimed at integrating artificial intelligence into the electric vehicle (EV) sector, received an overwhelming response with over 100 applications from tech startups across the country. The selected startups are Anuvega Powertronics, Aselector Technologies, Emerging Technologies, Gudlyf Mobility, Power Jet (EV Urjaa), Ravity, and Vocbot AI.

MGDP Season 5.0, themed “AI in Electric Mobility,” invites startups to explore AI’s transformative potential, pushing boundaries in business operations and enhancing everyday mobility solutions. The selected companies will collaborate with JSW MG Motor India to develop pilot projects and ongoing initiatives over the coming months, driving forward practical applications that merge AI and EV technologies.

Launched in early 2024, this season of the program has been supported by a strong partnership network, including Startup India and Manthan, under the Office of the Principal Scientific Adviser to the Government of India. Key ecosystem collaborators such as AWS, Exicom, Lohum, and DRIIV (Delhi Research Implementation and Innovation) also provided essential resources and guidance, ensuring the initiative’s far-reaching impact.

Gaurav Gupta, Chief Growth Officer of JSW MG Motor India, expressed his enthusiasm: “Our commitment to innovation and collaboration within the electric mobility sector is unwavering. The MG Developer Program and Grant empower startups to create AI-driven solutions that tackle both current challenges and future opportunities in this evolving landscape. By offering mentorship, resources, and a collaborative environment, we aim to shape India’s future in electric mobility through cutting-edge AI advancements.”

The MGDP’s influence continues to grow, with applications pouring in from 52 cities nationwide. The seven winning startups each bring unique expertise to the table:

  • Anuvega Powertronics: Specializes in power electronics and drivetrain solutions.
  • Aselector Technologies: Provides AI-based platforms for customer experience and process optimization.
  • Emerging Technologies: Focuses on enhancing safety and efficiency in the automotive industry.
  • Gudlyf Mobility: A deep-tech startup working on energy storage solutions.
  • Power Jet (EV Urjaa): An EV charging infrastructure provider.
  • Ravity: AI-driven mobility management platform.
  • Vocbot AI: A multi-lingual SaaS platform offering AI-powered contact center services.

Since its inception in 2019, the MG Developer Program has fostered innovation in India’s startup ecosystem, attracting over 1,550 entries and advancing 280 teams through the initial rounds of seasons 1-4. With mentorship from over 100 industry experts, including MG India’s leadership and technology partners, the program has established itself as a cornerstone for startups exploring connected car technology, electric mobility, and beyond. So far, 34 startups have collaborated with JSW MG Motor India through the MGDP, actively engaging in various projects that push the boundaries of automotive technology in India.

As JSW MG Motor India continues to invest in technological advancements, the company remains optimistic about the positive impact these startups will have on the Indian automotive landscape, leveraging AI to reshape electric mobility for the future.
