Honda Cars India Enhances Safety Across Popular Models

New Delhi, April 1, 2024 – Honda Cars India Ltd. (HCIL), a renowned premium car manufacturer, has announced significant safety upgrades across its vehicle lineup, including the Honda Elevate, City, City e:HEV, and Amaze. This move underscores HCIL’s dedication to achieving its global goal of zero traffic collision fatalities involving its vehicles by 2050.

In a major safety push, the Honda Elevate and City models have been upgraded to include six airbags, three-point Emergency Locking Retractor (ELR) seatbelts, and a seatbelt reminder for all seats as standard features across all grades. These enhancements are part of HCIL’s commitment to the “Safety For Everyone” philosophy and are aimed at setting new benchmarks in vehicle safety in India.

The Honda City e:HEV, already equipped with six airbags, will now also include seatbelt reminders for all occupants, further enhancing passenger safety. The Honda Amaze joins the safety enhancement initiative with the introduction of seatbelt reminders for all seats across all grades.

Takuya Tsumura, President & CEO of Honda Cars India Ltd., emphasized the company’s commitment to safety, stating, “Aligned with our global target for zero traffic collision fatalities and approach of ‘Safety For Everyone’, we are making six airbags a standard offering across Elevate and City. As India’s road infrastructure evolves and safety awareness among customers rises, Honda remains steadfast in its commitment to exceeding safety benchmarks.”

In addition to the safety features, Honda has introduced several other upgrades across its models to enhance the customer experience. These include new in-cabin features and improvements in the design and functionality of existing amenities.

The summary of updated features in the respective models includes:

  • Honda Elevate: Introduction of six airbags, 3-point ELR seatbelts, seat belt reminders, and various in-cabin enhancements across all grades.
  • Honda City: Upgrades such as six airbags, seat belt reminders, a new color TFT meter display, premium surround sound system, and a rear sunshade across selected grades.
  • Honda City e:HEV and Honda Amaze: Now feature seatbelt reminders for all occupants across all grades.

These updates reflect Honda Cars India’s ongoing efforts to not only meet but exceed customer expectations in terms of safety, comfort, and overall driving experience.
