Tokyo, Japan – Lexus, the renowned luxury vehicle brand, has officially announced the introduction of the LY 680, marking a significant evolution from its predecessor, the LY 650. This next-generation luxury yacht is set to redefine maritime luxury with enhanced features and expanded spaces for relaxation and enjoyment. Lexus has started accepting orders for the LY 680 exclusively in Japan from March 21st, 2024, through Toyota Marine sales offices and a select number of dealers.
The LY 680 is the embodiment of Lexus’ “Crafted” design philosophy, which emphasizes meticulous attention to detail, aiming to surpass customer expectations and deliver a unique sensory experience at sea. The concept behind this luxury yacht is to offer a secluded hideaway amidst the ocean, providing a liberating and comfortable space for discerning customers.
With its sleek exterior following the Lexus L-finesse design philosophy and an interior crafted to perfection, the LY 680 offers a living space that combines luxury with comfort. Lexus targets to provide a cruising experience that is both confidence-inspiring and marked by stable maneuverability, superior ride comfort, and quietness.
The Horizon Group, renowned for its advanced technology and expertise in building superyachts, is tasked with the construction of the LY 680. This partnership leverages the Horizon Group’s building capabilities and the yacht production methods based on the Toyota Production System (TPS), enhancing the yacht’s overall quality and performance.
Key enhancements include the expansion of the flybridge by 1,400 mm, now featuring a spacious lounge sofa and a barbecue grill for guests to unwind and enjoy the sea breeze. Additionally, the swimming platform has been extended by 700 mm, broadening the range of offshore activities available to guests, including the use of personal watercraft.
A 1/20 scale model of the LY 680 will be showcased at the Japan International Boat Show 2024, set to take place at Pacifico Yokohama from March 21st to 24th, 2024. This event will offer enthusiasts and potential customers a closer look at the future of luxury yachting as envisioned by Lexus.
