Lotus Launches ‘Chapman Couture’: Now Your Car Can Dress Better Than You

In a sartorial twist to auto innovation, Lotus has unveiled “Lotus Chapman Bespoke,” a tailor-made service allowing the fashion-forward and the fastidious to custom-design their vehicles. Slated to premiere in China on April 25, 2024, before sashaying onto the global stage, this initiative is named in honor of Lotus’ trendsetting founders, Colin & Hazel Chapman, making it the pinnacle of personal automotive styling.

From the streets of London, Lotus proclaimed on Wednesday that due to a crescendo of global demand, they are now offering a unique customization service. The Chapman legacy, known for breaking the mold and setting the racetracks ablaze with innovative designs, is taking a leap from the track to the drawing board, offering patrons the chance to inject a dose of personal flair into their rides.

Clive Chapman, steward of the Chapman heritage and Director of Classic Team Lotus, shared, “My parents embarked on a remarkable journey, their vivacious spirits driving the creation of groundbreaking designs. It’s time we let the drivers craft their legacy with Lotus Chapman Bespoke.”

Echoing the sentiment of individuality, Qingfeng Feng, the CEO of Lotus Group, reminded us that Lotus’ origins were anything but ordinary. “The Chapman narrative is one of bespoke craftsmanship,” he said, highlighting Colin’s hands-on approach to car building. This tradition of customization is not just alive but thriving, inviting today’s Lotus drivers to finish their cars with a personal touch, channeling the Chapman ingenuity.

Lotus Chapman Bespoke isn’t just about personalization; it’s about exclusivity. With options ranging from “Tailor-made,” where clients can mix and match from an extensive palette of colors and finishes, to “Collection,” offering limited edition designs in collaboration with elite artists and luxury brands, and finally, the “One-off” service, which promises a vehicle as unique as its owner’s fingerprint.

Ben Payne, VP of Design at Lotus Group, couldn’t hide his excitement. “Our clientele craves a bespoke touch – whether it’s a specific color, texture, or detail. We’re eager to see how their individuality will redefine our cars worldwide.”

As Lotus Chapman Bespoke gears up to redefine automotive customization, it’s clear that the line between car ownership and personal expression has never been blurrier. For those looking to make their mark, or simply outshine their neighbor’s sedan, Lotus Chapman Bespoke might just be the couturier you didn’t know your car needed.
