Hyundai Creta N Line Review: Elevating the SUV Experience with Sporty Elegance and Advanced Technology

The Hyundai Creta N Line, launched in 2022 and now showcasing its first-generation facelift variant in 2023, marks a sportier evolution within the popular SUV segment, specifically catering to the Indian market. With an ex-showroom price starting at INR 16.82 lakhs and going up to INR 20.44 lakhs for the top-end N10 model, the Creta N Line is a petrol-only vehicle that distinctively positions itself as a more performance-oriented version of the standard Creta, which starts at around INR 11 lakhs.

This SUV embodies Hyundai’s “Sensuous Sportiness” design language and carries the codename SU2i for this generation. It is not just about aesthetics; the vehicle integrates Level 2 ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems), focusing on enhanced safety and driving convenience. A standout feature is its WRC-inspired design, which, along with a sporty suspension and steering system, differentiates the N Line from the standard Creta, offering a more dynamic and engaging driving experience.

Hyundai offers a 3-year unlimited kilometer warranty for the Creta N Line, which can be extended up to 7 years, including 3 years of roadside assistance. The vehicle is built on the Hyundai-Kia K2 platform, shared among various models like the i20, Verna, i30, Venue, Alcazar, and several Kia vehicles, ensuring a robust and versatile foundation.

Design-wise, the Creta N Line features distinctive red highlights on the front and rear bumpers, skid plates, a black sporty radiator grille with the N Line logo, and other elements like horizon LED positioning lamps, DRLs with sequential turn indicators, and quad beam LED automatic headlamps with high beam assist. The sportiness is further accentuated with 18-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels adorned with the N logo, red brake calipers, and high-performance 215/55 R18 95H JK Tyre UX Royale steel radial tubeless tyres.

Available in colors like Atlas White, Matte Grey, Black, and Blue, with an option for a dual-tone black roof, the SUV emphasizes four pillars in its design philosophy: stylish exterior, interior refinement, enthusiastic performance, and advanced technology. It boasts safety ratings from Global NCAP and ASEAN NCAP, reflecting its commitment to passenger protection.

Key features include a range of drive modes (Eco, Normal, Sport) and traction control settings (Snow, Mud, Sand), Hyundai SmartSense Level 2 ADAS suite, comprehensive safety equipment including six airbags, ABS, EBD, ESC, and a 433-litre boot space. For entertainment and comfort, it offers an 8-speaker Bose premium sound system, 60:40 split folding rear seats, leatherette upholstery, red ambient lighting, and a 10.25-inch HD touchscreen infotainment system supporting multiple languages, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, navigation, among others. The 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster includes digital speedometer, average, range, media and a blind spot camera display for increased driver awareness. The Hyundai Creta N Line also integrates cutting-edge technology with its voice-activated smart panoramic sunroof and a 3-spoke leatherette wrapped steering wheel.

Under the hood, the Creta N Line is powered by a 1482 cc, inline 4-cylinder, 16 valves, DOHC, Hyundai Smartstream Turbo GDi petrol engine, delivering 157 horsepower and 253 Nm of torque. This engine configuration is capable of accelerating from 0-100 km/h in 8.9 seconds, with a top speed of approximately 190 km/h and an average fuel efficiency of 18 km/l for both manual and automatic transmissions from 50 litre fuel tank.

In summary, the Hyundai Creta N Line offers a compelling package for those seeking a sporty, feature-rich SUV that does not compromise on performance, safety, or style. It stands as a testament to Hyundai’s ability to cater to evolving consumer preferences, offering a more dynamic and engaging driving experience wrapped in a stylish and technologically advanced package.
