This exclusive single malt Scotch whisky, which boasts both traditional craftsmanship and avant-garde precision engineering, was unveiled on March 13, 2024, in Crewe and Speyside, marking a blend of excellence 200 years in the making. It is priced at $50,000 (INR 41.43 lakh) per bottle.
In what can only be described as a liquid engineering marvel, The Macallan Horizon introduces whisky aficionados and car enthusiasts alike to a bottle with a groundbreaking 180-degree twist. This design innovation mirrors the horizontal journey of automotive exploration, steering away from the vertical norms of the whisky world. Crafted by The Macallan Master Whisky Maker, Kirsteen Campbell, from six specially selected first-fill sherry seasoned oak casks, this single malt is a testament to the synergy between the two iconic brands. The whisky captures the essence of Bentley, blending rich and indulgent flavors with the luxury and longevity mirrored in the automaker’s timeless designs.
What truly sets The Macallan Horizon apart is its presentation. Encased in a unique bespoke glass vessel designed to lie horizontally, the whisky challenges conventional bottling norms. Wrapped in an aluminium ribbon engineered to Bentley’s exacting standards and nestled within a sculpture adorned with the finest low carbon leather, the packaging is as much a work of art as the whisky itself. A surrounding copper frame, precision-engineered from recycled copper, and a closure inlaid with oak wood from one of the six casks used in the whisky’s maturation, add to its exclusivity and allure.
