The Mumbai-based automotive giant has seen a particularly noteworthy surge in its Passenger Vehicle (PV) sector, with sales catapulting to an impressive 51,321 units, representing a hefty 19% year-on-year growth. This surge is a testament to the brand’s unwavering appeal among car buyers, who seem to have a voracious appetite for Tata’s blend of innovation, reliability, and style.
However, it’s not all smooth sailing in the Tata empire, as the Commercial Vehicle (CV) segment witnessed a slight dip, recording sales of 35,085 units—a modest 4% decline compared to the previous year. Digging deeper into the numbers, the domestic sale of Medium & Heavy Commercial Vehicles (MH&ICV), including both trucks and buses, stood at 16,227 units for February 2024. This represents a slight decrease from the 17,282 units sold in February 2023. Furthermore, when combining domestic and international business for MH&ICV, the total sales reached 16,663 units, down from 17,928 units the year prior, reflecting the challenges and competitive nature of the global automotive market.
