Barely Driven Lamborghini Centenario on Auction Block: Only 112 km on the Clock, Priced at a Cool INR 20 Crore

Dubai, UAE – In a remarkable tribute to its founder’s 100th birthday, a pristine 2017 Lamborghini Centenario LP770-4 Coupé is hitting the auction scene, courtesy of RM Sotheby’s in Dubai. This automotive masterpiece, one of just 20 coupé versions ever made, is a collector’s dream with a scant 112 kilometers on the odometer – likely all from pre-delivery testing.

The Centenario is a rolling tribute to Ferruccio Lamborghini, the visionary entrepreneur who dared to challenge the status quo of sports car manufacturing. Crafted to mark the centenary year of Lamborghini’s founder, this model is a blend of power, design, and technology, embodying the spirit of its namesake.

Under the hood lies a beastly 6.5-litre V-12 engine, mated to a seven-speed automated manual gearbox. It’s factory-rated at an earth-shaking 759 horsepower, capable of catapulting from 0 to 100 km/h in a blistering 2.8 seconds. This European-spec model, last registered in Germany, combines luxury and raw power in a package that’s undeniably Lamborghini.

The Centenario retains the carbon fiber monocoque and sub-frames of the Aventador but stands out with its own flair and functionalities. Among its innovations are the rear-wheel steering system, a first for Lamborghini, enhancing maneuverability and stability. The interior doesn’t shy away from luxury either, with a 25-centimeter screen providing navigation, entertainment, and even telemetry data.

This particular Centenario, with its black matte carbon fiber finish accented with red trim, boasts an interior that follows the same striking color scheme. Its rarity and low mileage make it a coveted item for collectors and enthusiasts alike, a fitting homage to Lamborghini’s daring and innovative founder.

The auction, expected to fetch between $2,000,000 and $2,500,000 USD (approximately INR 20.71 crore), offers a unique opportunity to own a piece of Lamborghini history. However, buyers should note the car has entered the UAE on a temporary import bond, necessitating either export or payment of VAT and import duties to keep it in the UAE.

This limited edition Centenario, a testament to Ferruccio Lamborghini’s vision and Automobili Lamborghini’s enduring legacy, awaits its next fortunate owner. Will it be a joyride or a cherished collectible? Only time, and the auction hammer, will tell.
