Mumbai, February 8, 2024 – In a move that’s bound to inject some excitement into the CNG car market, Tata Motors, the trailblazer of India’s automotive industry, has just rolled out a duo of dynamic vehicles that are all set to become the country’s first Automated Manual Transmission (AMT) CNG cars. The Tiago and Tigor iCNG models are not only pioneering in technology but also boast an astonishing fuel efficiency of 28.06 Km/kg. The price tag? A starting figure of ₹ 7.89 lakhs for the Tiago iCNG and ₹ 8.84 lakhs for the Tigor iCNG, with both prices pegged at Ex-showroom Delhi.
But it’s not just about what’s under the hood. Tata Motors is also revving up the style quotient with the introduction of vibrant new colors to the lineup. The Tiago will now be available in an electrifying Tornado Blue, the Tiago NRG in a serene Grassland Beige, and the Tigor will flaunt a sleek Meteor Bronze.
Amit Kamat, Chief Commercial Officer of Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Ltd., shared his enthusiasm for the launch, stating, “CNG’s growing acceptance, thanks to its widespread availability, has inspired Tata Motors to bring innovation to the segment with industry-first features like twin-cylinder technology for uncompromised boot space, high-end features, and the ability to start directly in CNG mode. Over the past two years, we’ve seen our CNG vehicles fleet grow by over 1.3 lakh units. By launching the Tiago and Tigor iCNG in AMT, we’re excited to introduce India to its first AMT CNG cars.”
Tata Motors, renowned for having the most extensive CNG portfolio that includes models like the Tiago, Tigor, Altroz, and Punch, has seen a remarkable 67.9% growth in CNG sales in FY24 compared to the previous year. Kamat added, “With these Intelligent, Safe, and Powerful additions, we’re set to further fuel the demand for CNG vehicles, thus continuing our momentum in the passenger car segment.”
