Gurugram – In an unprecedented achievement, BMW Group India has announced its highest-ever annual sales for the year 2023, marking a significant milestone across its three brands: BMW, MINI, and BMW Motorrad. The luxury automobile group reported a remarkable sale of 14,172 cars, encompassing BMW and MINI models, and a striking 8,768 motorcycles under BMW Motorrad.

The sales figures reflect an 18% increase for BMW and MINI cars and a 20% surge in BMW Motorrad bike sales. This growth trajectory was particularly evident in the final quarter of 2023, with BMW, MINI, and BMW Motorrad all recording their highest sales for Quarter 4 – BMW at 4,306 units (up 41%), MINI at 287 units (up 54%), and BMW Motorrad at 1,990 units (up 3%).

Vikram Pawah, President of BMW Group India, expressed his enthusiasm over the year’s performance. “2023 has been a record-breaking year for us. Our brands – BMW, MINI, and BMW Motorrad – have all achieved their highest-ever sales. We’ve not only provided luxurious products but also created bespoke experiences and services for our customers,” he stated.

Adding to its accolades, BMW Group India has retained its top position in the luxury electric vehicle segment for the second consecutive year, showcasing a diverse and innovative product range. Leading the electric charge is the BMW iX, heralded as the highest-selling luxury electric vehicle in India.

In the electric vehicle (EV) segment, BMW Group’s performance was stellar, registering a three-fold growth with 1,474 units sold. The group’s electric lineup, including the BMW i7, BMW iX, BMW i4, BMW iX1, and MINI SE, has contributed significantly to this success. The launch of the BMW i7 and BMW iX1 further bolstered the group’s position in the market.

BMW India reported sales of 13,303 units, marking an 18% increase. Its Luxury Class, featuring models like the BMW 7 Series and BMW X7, grew by 88%, while the BMW Sports Activity Vehicles (SAV) segment witnessed a 24% increase in sales. The new BMW 3 Series emerged as the highest-selling sedan, claiming 20% of the sales share.

MINI India also saw impressive growth, with 869 units sold, marking a 22% increase. The locally produced MINI Countryman led the charge, accounting for 55% of MINI sales, while the electric MINI 3-Door Cooper SE doubled its sales, becoming the second-highest selling MINI model.

BMW Motorrad India recorded sales of 8,768 units, a 20% increase from the previous year. The BMW G 310 models showed a robust 19% growth, maintaining an 88% share in overall sales. The core bike segment, comprising completely built-up units, grew by 33%, driven by the popularity of the GS adventure and RR sports segment.

In conclusion, BMW Group India’s record-breaking sales in 2023 underscore its dominance in the luxury automobile market, both in traditional and electric vehicle segments. With its diverse and innovative product range, the group continues to set new benchmarks in the industry.
