Honda Elevate launched in Japan, starts at INR 12.25 lakh

Honda Motor Co., Ltd. has announced the launch of the WR-V, a new SUV, in Japan on March 22, 2024. WR-V is marketed as Elevate in India and it has been renamed for Japanese market. The WR-V, which stands for “Winsome Runabout Vehicle,” aims to offer an enjoyable and trustful driving experience with class-leading cargo space. It embodies the concept of the “Versatile Freestyler,” designed for adaptability and unique lifestyles. The WR-V boasts top-notch design, safety, and performance features.

Key attributes include:

  • Superior driver visibility and a sedan-like driving position.
  • A spacious cabin, ample legroom, and easy access for passengers.
  • A cargo space of 458 liters, utilizing a flat and extended rear area with under-floor storage.
  • A ground clearance of 195 mm, enhancing off-road capability.

Design-wise, the WR-V exudes a sense of reliability and elegance. It features a robust front grille, extended front hood, and broad stance, complemented by full LED lighting.

Performance is assured with a 1.5L DOHC i-VTEC engine paired with an optimized CVT and G-design Shift Control. The WR-V is built on the Honda Fit chassis, offering balanced handling and comfort.

Safety is a priority with the Honda SENSING suite standard on all models. This includes advanced systems like collision mitigation, adaptive cruise control, lane keeping assist, and parking sensors.

Honda plans to sell 3,000 units monthly in Japan, with the WR-V expected to resonate with drivers seeking versatility, comfort, and safety in their vehicle choice.
