Jan Bures to Move to Volkswagen AG; Piyush Arora Expands India Role

Mumbai: Škoda Auto Volkswagen India Private Limited has announced a leadership transition in its Sales, Marketing and Digital division, with Managing Director and CEO Piyush Arora set to take on the additional responsibility of Executive Director for Sales and Marketing in India.

The change will take effect after Jan Bures, currently Executive Director — Sales, Marketing and Digital at Škoda Auto Volkswagen India, completes his global assignment in the country. Bures will continue with the Volkswagen Group and assume a new role at Volkswagen AG from September 2026.

The company acknowledged Bures’ contribution to the Group’s growth in India and wished him success in his next assignment.

Following the transition, Arora will oversee the Sales and Marketing function alongside his existing responsibilities as Managing Director and CEO. The company said the revised leadership structure is intended to improve strategic alignment, speed up decision-making and create greater accountability across the organisation.

The move effectively places a larger share of the Group’s India strategy under a single leadership umbrella — a heavier brief, though presumably without the need for a larger business card.

Škoda Auto Volkswagen India manages the Indian operations of six automotive brands: Volkswagen, Škoda, Audi, Bentley, Lamborghini and Porsche. The portfolio spans mass-market passenger vehicles, premium cars, luxury models and high-performance automobiles.

The company said it remains committed to the long-term potential of the Indian automotive market, with an emphasis on sustainable growth, customer-focused innovation and an expanding product portfolio.

The leadership change comes as global carmakers continue to refine their management structures in India, where product planning, customer preferences and competitive pressures increasingly require quicker and more closely coordinated decisions. For Škoda Auto Volkswagen India, consolidating responsibility under Arora signals an effort to keep its diverse brand portfolio moving in one strategic direction.
