Mumbai: Škoda Auto India’s limited-run Kodiaq RS has sold out in just six minutes, with all 50 units of the performance SUV claimed by customers across the country, the company said on Monday.
The Kodiaq RS arrives in India as Škoda marks 125 years in motorsport and more than half a century of its RS badge. The sell-out also comes a year after the Octavia RS was fully booked in 20 minutes in 2025, suggesting that India’s performance-car enthusiasts are still very willing to move quickly—especially when the allocation is smaller than a decent apartment parking lot.
The Kodiaq RS has been introduced under Škoda Auto India’s “Surrender” campaign, positioning the SUV as a mix of performance, luxury, seven-seat practicality and all-wheel-drive capability.
Commenting on the milestone, Ashish Gupta, Brand Director, Škoda Auto India, said, “The RS has stood as a global icon for over half a century, with a passionate following in India for more than two decades. With the ‘Surrender’ campaign, we brought to customers a unique combination of performance and versatility in the Kodiaq RS. We are delighted—though not surprised—to see customers truly ‘surrender’ to its motorsport heritage, 4×4 capability, 7-seat luxury, and its standing as the quickest Škoda in India.”
Powering the Kodiaq RS is a 2.0-litre TSI engine producing 195 kW, or 265 PS, and 400 Nm of torque. The engine is paired with Škoda Auto’s 7-speed DSG transmission, sending power to all four wheels.
Škoda says the Kodiaq RS can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.3 seconds and reach a top speed of 231 km/h, making it the quickest Škoda ever offered in India. The SUV also gets Dynamic Sound Boost, designed to add a more expressive engine note.
The performance hardware is supported by Progressive Steering and the latest-generation Dynamic Chassis Control Plus, or DCC Plus. According to the company, these systems are intended to improve steering precision, low-speed manoeuvrability and adaptability across different driving conditions through multiple driving modes.
Visually, the Kodiaq RS gets signature RS styling cues, including blacked-out exterior elements, a gloss black grille frame, black outside rear-view mirrors, black window trims, black roof rails and black D-pillars. The overall look is assertive, though still restrained enough for those who prefer their family SUV with a discreet hint of mischief.
Inside, the cabin features black leather upholstery with red stitching, combining the sportier RS treatment with the comfort expected from a premium seven-seat SUV. The model is available in four exterior colours: Moon White, Magic Black, Velvet Red and Steel Grey.
The Kodiaq RS also holds significance for Škoda’s India performance portfolio. The RS lineage was introduced in the country 22 years ago with the Octavia RS, a nameplate that built a strong following among enthusiasts.
With the Kodiaq RS selling out in six minutes, Škoda Auto India has once again found evidence that limited-run performance models continue to command attention in a market increasingly defined by SUVs, premium features and buyers who still enjoy a quick 0–100 km/h figure with their family space.
