From roadside polishing to boardroom-level paint protection, the detailing industry just got a serious glow-up.
RODIM, the BASF-backed global specialist in advanced Paint Protection Solutions, has officially launched its first exclusive authorized brand store in India, named Perfect Finish, in Faridabad. And if your car bonnet could smile, it probably would right now.
The launch marks a significant step in RODIM’s India strategy as the company looks to transform the country’s rapidly growing automotive detailing market into a more structured, technology-driven, and professionally managed ecosystem. In simpler terms: fewer “bhaiya, thoda aur polish maar do” moments, and more precision-engineered surface protection.
The inauguration comes shortly after the global debut of RODIM’s flagship R-Star Paint Protection Film (PPF) at Automechanika, reinforcing India’s growing importance in the brand’s international expansion roadmap.
The Faridabad facility is not just another premium detailing studio with fancy lights and ceramic-coated supercars parked outside. It will also function as a dedicated training hub where RODIM partners and installers will learn advanced application techniques aimed at improving installation quality while reducing material wastage — something every PPF installer and accountant can collectively appreciate.
The store was inaugurated by senior BASF and RODIM leadership including Mr. Andy Wong, Head of Business Management, Direct Importers, APAC; Mr. Sooraj Kapur, Sales & Marketing Manager, South Asia; and Mr. Ram Kumar Gaur, Assistant Business Development Manager. They were joined by Mr. Ruchir Malhotra and Mr. Sachin Ahuja, Co-Founders and Managing Partners of Sheen Automotive 360 LLP, the sole importers and distributors for RODIM in India.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Andy Wong said the launch reflects RODIM’s long-term commitment to the Indian market and its ambition to professionalize what has traditionally been a highly unorganised industry.
Mr. Amresh Khar, Senior Vice President, emphasized that the brand aims to blend global technology with Indian market sensibilities, affordability, and emotional value. He also noted that the strong participation from automotive detailers across India highlights the increasing demand for premium protection solutions among Indian car owners.
Meanwhile, Mr. Ruchir Malhotra stated that detailers have already shown strong confidence in RODIM’s products following the brand’s showcase at Automechanika. According to him, these branded retail outlets will help raise industry standards while accelerating business growth for professional studios.
Adding to this, Mr. Sachin Ahuja revealed that the company plans to help existing partners upgrade their facilities into world-class detailing studios under the RODIM ecosystem.
India continues to play a central role in RODIM’s global growth strategy, especially after becoming the first country chosen for the brand’s international product launch. With luxury car ownership, premium coatings, and paint protection films witnessing rising demand across metros and Tier-2 cities alike, the detailing business is no longer just about making cars shiny — it is increasingly becoming a full-fledged automotive lifestyle industry.
And judging by the pace at which PPF studios are opening these days, Indian car owners may soon spend more on protecting paint than on protecting their phone screens.
