Toyota India Starts FY27 on a Hybrid High: 17% Growth in April as Innova HyCross Hits 2 Lakh Milestone

Bangalore: Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) has kicked off the new financial year with a confident stride, registering total sales of 32,086 units in April 2026, marking a healthy 17% year-on-year growth compared to 27,329 units sold in April 2025.

Of the total tally, domestic sales contributed a dominant 30,159 units, while exports stood at 1,927 units, indicating steady traction both at home and overseas. In a market that’s often described as “competitive,” Toyota seems to have quietly brought a well-tuned engine to the race—no unnecessary revving, just consistent forward motion.

Driving this momentum is the ever-popular Toyota Innova HyCross, which achieved a significant milestone of 2 lakh cumulative sales. This feat not only underlines the model’s strong acceptance but also signals a growing customer inclination towards hybrid mobility—proving that Indians are increasingly warming up to cars that sip fuel instead of gulping it.

Commenting on the performance, Sabari Manohar, Executive Vice President, Sales-Service-Used Car Business at TKM, highlighted that the growth reflects “steady and sustained progress,” powered by a sharp focus on customer-centric strategies, product excellence, and disciplined execution across markets.

Despite shifting industry dynamics, Toyota continues to benefit from aligning its technological innovations with evolving customer expectations. Its expanding product portfolio and robust dealer network have further strengthened its position, ensuring the brand remains a consistent performer in the Indian automotive landscape.

In simpler terms, while others are still figuring out the road ahead, Toyota seems to have already set the cruise control—smooth, efficient, and quietly ahead of the curve.
