Toyota Camry Sprint Edition: Hybrid Luxury Puts on Running Shoes in India

Bangalore – The Toyota Camry has been many things in its two-decade reign in India: a chauffeur’s delight, a boardroom-on-wheels, and a quiet hybrid that politely sips fuel while its rivals guzzle. But today, Toyota Kirloskar Motor decided to lace up the Camry’s sneakers and send it sprinting into showrooms with the launch of the Camry Hybrid Electric Vehicle – Sprint Edition.

This isn’t just another sedan; it’s a Camry that looks like it joined a gym, hired a stylist, and is now flexing in a matte-black tracksuit.

Legacy with a Twist

Since its debut in 2002, the Camry has symbolised premium sedan aspirations in India. Globally, it’s been on the scene since 1982, charming over 21 million owners and proving that not all family sedans are boring. With the Sprint Edition, Toyota wants to show that efficiency can wear sneakers and still look classy.

What’s New in the Sprint?

  • Dual-tone exterior styling – Matte black roof, hood, and trunk give it the “serious athlete” look.
  • Matte black alloy wheels – Because shiny alloys are so last season.
  • Exclusive Sports Kit* – Front body kit, rear body kit, and spoiler that whisper aerodynamics but shout attitude.
  • Ambient lighting and door warning lamps* – Practical bling for the cautious sprinter.

Power in Motion

Under the hood, the Sprint Edition runs a 2.5L Dynamic Force Engine paired with a high-capacity lithium-ion battery and an e-CVT transmission. Together, they deliver 230 PS of power with a best-in-class 25.49 km/l fuel efficiency. Translation: it can sprint without panting, while your petrol bill jogs at half pace.

Drive modes—Eco, Normal, and Sport—ensure that whether you’re gliding through traffic, cruising down the highway, or pretending you’re on an F1 grid at a traffic light, the Camry has your back.

Safety & Comfort – Because Sprinters Need a Cool Down

Equipped with Toyota Safety Sense 3.0, the Sprint Edition comes loaded with Pre-Collision System, Dynamic Radar Cruise Control, Lane Departure Alert, Lane Tracing Assist, and Automatic High Beam. Basically, it’s smarter than half the drivers on Indian roads.

Inside, you get luxury touches like ventilated seats, a 10-way power-adjustable driver’s seat with memory, paddle shifters, wireless charging, Heads-Up Display, and even memory-linked ORVMs. It’s less of a car and more of a moving executive suite with a sporty hoodie.

Colours & Price

The Sprint Edition is available in five bold dual-tone shades including Emotional Red & Matte Black and Dark Blue Metallic & Matte Black. Ex-showroom price: ₹48.5 lakh – the same across India. (Finally, a national policy everyone can agree on.)

With an 8-year/1,60,000 km hybrid battery warranty, Toyota assures peace of mind that lasts longer than most political promises.

Unveiling the car, Varinder Wadhwa, Vice President – Sales, Service & Used Car Business, TKM, said, “The Camry Sprint Edition reflects Toyota’s pursuit of sportier design and sustainable performance. It’s our way of saying: yes, you can care for the planet while looking like you’re ready for a drag race.”

Bookings are now open. So, if you’ve always wanted a Camry that looks like it runs marathons on weekends—this is your moment.
