Gurugram – Nissan Motor India has hit a new milestone, closing the calendar year 2024 on a high note with remarkable sales and bookings performance. The company recorded its highest-ever December wholesale dispatches at 11,676 units, driven by strong demand for the newly launched Nissan Magnite SUV, which has crossed 10,000+ bookings since its launch in October 2024.
Historic Sales Performance in 2024
Nissan reported 91,184 units sold for the calendar year, underscoring significant growth across domestic and export markets. Of the total December wholesale dispatches, 2,118 units accounted for domestic sales, while 9,558 units were exported, reflecting a staggering 72% YoY export growth compared to December 2023.
Cumulatively, Nissan’s YTD FY24 exports stand at 51,764 units, marking a 63% YoY increase from the previous fiscal year. This growth aligns with Nissan’s strategic vision to position India as a global export hub.
Leadership Speaks on Growth Trajectory
Saurabh Vatsa, Managing Director of Nissan Motor India, expressed enthusiasm about the company’s achievements, stating:
“The year 2024 has been transformative for Nissan in India. The launch of the New Nissan Magnite and the 4th Generation X-TRAIL, coupled with our network expansion, has fortified our presence in the market. December’s historic sales performance reflects the growing trust customers have in our vehicles both locally and globally.”
He further emphasized Nissan’s commitment to its India Turnaround Plan, highlighting ongoing efforts to enhance customer experiences through expanded touchpoints and dealer support.
Global Appeal of the New Nissan Magnite
The ‘One Car, One World’ philosophy has positioned the New Nissan Magnite as a global product. Within a month of its international launch, over 2,700 units of the Magnite were shipped to South Africa, marking the SUV’s debut in the Left-Hand Drive market.
The Magnite is now exported to over 65 countries, reinforcing Nissan’s ‘Make in India, Make for the World’ strategy. Since its debut in December 2020, the Magnite has achieved cumulative sales of 150,000+ units, making it a key driver of Nissan’s global growth.
Enhanced Customer Experience with Nissan Academy
Nissan Motor India recently inaugurated the Nissan Academy, its first national training center at the Alliance JV plant in Chennai. This initiative aims to enhance the skills of dealership and service staff, further emphasizing Nissan’s commitment to delivering top-notch customer service.
