Hyundai India Strengthens Leadership with New Chief Legal Officer & Business Head

Gurugram: Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) has appointed Amitabh Lal Das as its new Chief Legal Officer & Business Head, signaling the company’s ongoing commitment to innovation, operational excellence, and strategic growth as it enters a new phase of expansion.

Welcoming Lal Das to the leadership team, HMIL’s Managing Director, Unsoo Kim, expressed optimism about the new appointment: “We are thrilled to have Amitabh Lal Das join us as Chief Legal Officer & Business Head. His extensive expertise and proven ability to navigate complex challenges will be invaluable to our organization. Lal Das brings a wealth of experience in legal affairs and corporate governance, with a strong educational background that includes a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) degree and a law degree from the University of Delhi, as well as an international certificate in enterprise risk management from IRM, UK. His career includes leadership roles at Yahoo India Private Limited and Max Life Insurance Company Limited, where he served as Senior Legal Director and General Counsel.

In his new role, Lal Das will oversee the legal, compliance, and secretarial functions of HMIL, reporting directly to Unsoo Kim. His appointment underscores Hyundai’s focus on reinforcing its leadership to sustain its competitive edge in a rapidly evolving automotive market.
