Mural Miles and Electric Smiles: Charge Zone Launches ‘Shwa’ to Supercharge Art and Climate on Highways

On this World Environment Day, while the world plants trees and posts green quotes, Charge Zone decided to paint the town sustainable. Quite literally.

India’s largest EV charging network today unveiled ‘Shwa’, a unique public art initiative that transforms its Supercharging stations into sprawling, thought-provoking galleries—where every charging stop now offers a cultural spark along with a voltage one.

Created in collaboration with some of India’s finest artistic talents—including muralist Rahul Kumawat—Shwa is more than wall art. It’s a full-blown movement bringing colour, conscience, and climate to India’s electric highways. Think: Warli meets wattage. Gond meets green energy.

“Charging stations are no longer pit stops. They’re now thought spots,” quipped Kartikey Hariyani, Founder & CEO of Charge Zone, who credited his millennial and GenZ team for dreaming up the concept over caffeine and climate anxiety. “With Shwa, we’re not just charging vehicles—we’re charging minds. It’s sustainability with a soul.”

The inaugural murals have sprung up at Karjan, Gujarat, and Suryapet, Telangana—both home to Charge Zone Supercharging stations where travelers typically wait long enough to sip chai, recharge devices, and now, reflect on climate through a splash of art.

Leading the creative charge, Devbrat Hariyani, Head of Project Shwa, explained, “Infrastructure shouldn’t just serve—it should stir. These murals are invitations to pause, ponder, and maybe post an Instagram story that’s more climate than cappuccino.”

Each mural features a scannable QR code, guiding curious visitors to a freshly launched microsite—shwa.chargezone.co.in—a slick digital archive with behind-the-scenes looks, artist stories, and downloadable high-res art (in case your phone needs more climate karma).

And this is just the spark—Charge Zone plans to roll out Shwa to 10–12 more locations in the next six months, and hundreds more over the next few years. If Tesla made charging stations look like tech pods, Charge Zone is making them look like open-air museums curated by Mother Earth herself.

As India races toward cleaner mobility, Charge Zone proves the journey needn’t be bland. With Shwa, even a highway halt can inspire hope—and perhaps, your next wallpaper.

So next time you’re low on charge, you might just leave with a little extra power—and perspective.
