Munich, Germany – The latest addition to the MINI lineup, the Countryman D in Favoured Trim, is set to make waves with its advanced four-cylinder diesel engine and TwinPower Turbo technology. Combining efficiency with the brand’s signature dynamic driving experience, the new design stands out in its Favoured Trim.
Unveiling the All-Rounder
The MINI Countryman, known for its versatility, shines as an agile city vehicle, a comfortable countryside cruiser, and offers expanded interior space. With its efficient two-liter four-cylinder diesel engine, the Countryman D enhances the existing range of powertrains, which already includes electric and gasoline options.
Advanced Diesel Efficiency
Equipped with a 48-volt mild hybrid system, the MINI Countryman D’s electric motor aids in energy recovery during braking and enhances the performance of the twin power motor with an additional 14 kW of electric drive power. This results in a more responsive drive at low speeds and improved overall efficiency.
The diesel engine, known for its smooth operation, boasts a combined fuel consumption of 4.9 to 4.6 liters per 100 km and CO2 emissions of 127 to 120 g/km according to WLTP standards. It delivers 120 kW (163 hp) and accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 8.5 seconds, maintaining MINI’s trademark go-kart-like handling with its direct steering and advanced suspension system.
Distinctive Design
The Countryman D’s design is characterized by its purist approach, available in four trim levels: Essential, Classic, Favoured, and John Cooper Works. In Favoured Trim, the vehicle’s wide stance is accentuated by the Midnight Black metallic paint and the bold octagonal front grille in vibrant silver. The MINI LED headlamps and short overhangs further emphasize its agile character.
The vehicle’s elegant roofline and C-pillar, adorned with a badge indicating the trim variant, complement the overall design. The standard piano black roof rails enhance the vehicle’s practicality, while various light alloy wheel designs in sizes from 17 to 21 inches add to its aesthetic appeal.
Spacious and Innovative Interior
The increased dimensions of the Countryman D’s body translate to greater comfort, with an additional three centimeters of shoulder and elbow room for the driver and front passenger. The rear seats, which can be adjusted by up to 13 centimeters, offer either increased legroom or more cargo space. The rear backrests, adjustable by up to 12 degrees in six positions, can be folded in a 40:20:40 split, expanding the trunk volume from 450 liters to 1460 liters.
New textile surfaces on the dashboard and door panels create a homely interior ambiance, enhanced by the panoramic glass roof. The central feature of the cockpit is the 240 mm round OLED display, which integrates infotainment and assistance systems, controlled via touch or voice command. The characteristic MINI toggle switch strip remains a key control element.
Enhanced Driving Experience
The MINI Experience Modes elevate the driving experience with a combination of visual design, ambient lighting, and innovative sound design. The Driving Assistant Plus option introduces partially automated Level 2 driving on motorways, allowing hands-free operation up to 60 km/h, provided the driver remains attentive and ready to intervene.
