Gurugram: Automotive components manufacturer Uno Minda Limited reported its highest-ever quarterly revenue and profit for the second quarter of FY2026-27, with consolidated revenue rising 38% year-on-year to ₹6,655 crore and profit attributable to shareholders increasing by an identical 38% to ₹420 crore. Alongside the record financial performance, the company announced an additional investment of approximately ₹85 crore to expand its sunroof manufacturing capacity in Bawal, Haryana, reflecting growing demand for advanced automotive features in India.
The company’s consolidated revenue increased from ₹4,814 crore in the corresponding quarter of FY26, supported by higher production volumes, increased value addition and a favourable product mix. Growth was spread across several business divisions, including switches, lighting, alloy wheels and seating systems.
Uno Minda’s expanding green mobility portfolio, comprising electric vehicle systems and alternative-fuel technologies, also contributed to revenue growth. Recently commissioned manufacturing facilities and additional production capacities provided further support during the quarter ended September 30, 2026.
Profitability improved alongside revenue, with consolidated earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) reaching ₹733 crore, up 33% from ₹552 crore a year earlier.
Profit after tax (PAT) attributable to Uno Minda shareholders rose to ₹420 crore, compared with ₹304 crore in Q2 FY26. The figures indicate that the company’s expanding manufacturing operations and diversified product portfolio continued to support earnings growth.
Uno Minda’s First-Half Revenue Crosses ₹12,000 Crore
The strong second-quarter performance also lifted Uno Minda’s financial results for the first half of FY27.
For the six months ended September 30, 2026, consolidated revenue reached ₹12,212 crore, representing a 32% increase over the corresponding period of the previous financial year.
First-half EBITDA increased 27% to ₹1,305 crore, compared with normalised EBITDA of ₹1,026 crore in H1 FY26.
Similarly, PAT attributable to shareholders rose 32% to ₹716 crore, against normalised PAT of ₹543 crore during the same period last year.
The first-half figures suggest that Uno Minda’s growth has extended beyond a single quarter, supported by contributions from its established automotive component businesses and newer technology-focused segments.
₹85 Crore Investment to Expand Sunroof Production in Haryana
Beyond its financial results, Uno Minda’s board approved an additional capital expenditure of approximately ₹85 crore to expand the company’s sunroof manufacturing capacity at Bawal, Haryana.
The investment is intended to fulfil additional customer orders already secured by the company while addressing growing demand for advanced sunroof systems in India’s passenger vehicle market.
According to Uno Minda, the additional manufacturing capacity is expected to be commissioned by the second quarter of FY28.
The expansion follows the company’s earlier investment in establishing a sunroof manufacturing facility at the same location. Construction of the initial facility is progressing according to schedule, with commercial operations expected to begin by the end of FY27.
The decision highlights the increasing importance of features once largely associated with premium vehicles as automotive suppliers expand their capabilities to serve changing consumer preferences.
Management Highlights Technology-Led Growth Strategy
Commenting on the quarterly performance, Ravi Mehra, Managing Director, Uno Minda, said:

We remain confident in the long-term opportunities ahead and committed to strengthening Uno Minda’s position as a leading technology-driven solutions provider for Automotive markets.”
The company’s management attributed its performance to growth across multiple business verticals, increased operational scale and improvements in manufacturing efficiency.
Sunil Bohra, Chief Financial Officer of Uno Minda, said:
“We have delivered a strong financial performance in Q2 FY27, with consolidated Revenue and PAT growing by 38% year-on-year demonstrating consistent outperformance from the underlying automotive industry growth.”
Bohra also emphasised the company’s continued investment in manufacturing capacity and technological capabilities, aimed at capturing opportunities across the automotive and mobility value chain.
The company expects its diversified portfolio and planned investments to support future growth while maintaining its focus on profitability, operational efficiency and long-term shareholder value.
Automotive Technology and Manufacturing Capacity Remain Key Priorities
Uno Minda’s latest results come as automotive suppliers increasingly focus on higher-value components, vehicle electrification and advanced convenience features.
Its expansion across electric vehicle systems, alternative-fuel technologies and sunroof manufacturing illustrates how component manufacturers are positioning themselves to benefit from changes in vehicle design, technology and consumer expectations.
While sustaining the current pace of growth will depend on automotive demand, execution of capacity expansion projects and operating conditions, Uno Minda’s record quarterly performance demonstrates the contribution of a diversified product portfolio.
For India’s automotive component industry, the broader message is clear: growth opportunities increasingly extend beyond the number of vehicles sold to the sophistication, technology and value of the components fitted to each one.
