Mumbai: Škoda Auto India has surpassed 350 customer touchpoints across 193 cities, marking a significant expansion of its sales and aftersales network as the Czech automaker seeks to strengthen its presence beyond India’s major metropolitan markets. The milestone was achieved on October 30 with the inauguration of its 350th customer touchpoint in Imphal, marking the brand’s entry into Manipur.
The expansion represents an increase of nearly 85% in Škoda’s network over five years, from 191 customer touchpoints in 2021 to more than 350 in October 2026. The company had reached 325 touchpoints in 2025, indicating continued investment in extending its geographical reach.
More importantly for the automaker’s business, newly established outlets accounted for over 25% of its overall sales between January and October 2026, suggesting that its push into smaller cities and emerging automotive markets is translating into measurable commercial results.
Network Now Covers 193 Cities Across 29 States and Union Territories
Škoda Auto India’s geographical presence has expanded from 156 cities across 25 States and Union Territories in 2024 to 193 cities across 29 States and Union Territories in 2026.
Supported by 79 dealer partners, the network currently includes 270 sales touchpoints and 203 aftersales touchpoints, with several facilities combining multiple services under the 2S and 3S formats.
Between January 2025 and October 2026, the automaker added 58 showrooms across 38 new cities and 45 workshops across 34 new cities, extending both vehicle purchasing and maintenance facilities to customers who previously had more limited access to the brand.
The expansion reflects a broader effort to reduce the geographical gap between dealerships and customers, particularly in regions where access to authorised service facilities can influence vehicle purchase decisions.
Imphal Opening Marks Škoda’s Entry Into Manipur
During 2026, Škoda entered 11 new cities: Balasore, Baramati, Bathinda, Bikaner, Guna, Imphal, Jorhat, Kaithal, Khammam, Sri Ganganagar and Vasai.
The opening in Imphal carries additional significance, becoming the first presence of a Škoda Auto Volkswagen India Private Limited (SAVWIPL) Group brand in Manipur.
Škoda also has the widest geographical coverage among the Group’s brands in Northeast India, a region where expanding dealership infrastructure presents opportunities to reach customers outside traditional automotive markets.
Rather than concentrating solely on established urban centres, the company is increasingly looking towards regional cities to support future sales and customer retention.
New Dealerships Contribute Over 25% of Sales in 2026
The contribution of newly opened outlets to more than a quarter of Škoda Auto India’s sales between January and October 2026 highlights the commercial importance of its dealership expansion.
While the company has not disclosed the corresponding sales volumes from these outlets, their contribution indicates that newer markets are becoming an increasingly relevant part of its domestic business.
Commenting on the milestone, Ashish Gupta, Brand Director, Škoda Auto India, said, “Surpassing 350 Customer Touchpoints across 193 cities demonstrates our commitment to bringing Škoda closer to customers across India. Our dealer partners, both existing and new, are central to this journey, and I thank them for sharing our vision of building a stronger Škoda brand in India. As we enter new markets, our priority is clear – to deliver a consistent, enriching customer experience across sales and aftersales. Together with our expanding product portfolio and customer-first initiatives, this growing network will help us strengthen customer trust and deepen our relevance across the country.”
Customer Experience and Aftersales Services Remain Key Priorities
Alongside expanding its physical presence, Škoda is emphasising dealership service quality and ownership support.
According to the company, its dealer partner in Bangalore secured the No. 1 position for dealership customer experience in a CarPhD survey covering 16 cities, 18 automotive brands and approximately 88,000 customer reviews.
The result provides a positive indicator for the dealership concerned, although maintaining consistent service standards across a rapidly expanding national network remains a broader operational challenge.
Škoda’s ownership initiatives include Škoda Super Care, which provides four years of standard warranty coverage, roadside assistance and complimentary service labour.
The automaker also offers Škoda Express Care at select locations, aimed at improving service convenience and reducing vehicle turnaround times.
These measures are intended to address an important aspect of vehicle ownership in India, where the availability of reliable servicing can matter just as much as the product sitting in the showroom.
Expanding Beyond Metro Markets
For Škoda Auto India, crossing 350 customer touchpoints is more than a numerical milestone. It reflects a gradual shift towards establishing a broader and more geographically distributed retail and service network.
The addition of new cities, particularly in Northeast India, could help the automaker reach customers who previously needed to travel considerable distances to access authorised sales or service facilities.
However, expanding dealership coverage also brings the responsibility of maintaining consistent customer experiences, ensuring workshop capacity and supporting dealer operations across diverse markets.
As competition in India’s passenger vehicle industry continues, Škoda’s growing network could play an important role in improving accessibility and supporting future demand. Ultimately, the success of this expansion will depend not simply on how many locations appear on the company’s dealership map, but on how effectively those locations serve customers long after the keys have been handed over.
