New Delhi: Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) has launched the 2026 Toyota Glanza in India, introducing a redesigned exterior, a new 1.2-litre petrol engine, Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) and several additional comfort features. Priced from ₹6.99 lakh (ex-showroom), the updated hatchback also introduces an automated manual transmission (AMT) option for CNG variants, expanding the range of powertrain choices available to buyers.
Bookings for the new Glanza open on October 15, 2026, with a booking amount of ₹11,000. Deliveries are scheduled to begin in the first week of November.
The latest update represents a significant expansion of the Glanza’s equipment list, particularly in safety and convenience. Features such as adaptive cruise control, ventilated front seats, a head-up display and a 360-degree camera bring technologies commonly associated with more expensive vehicles into Toyota’s hatchback range.
New Toyota Glanza Gets a Sharper, Sportier Exterior
The 2026 Glanza introduces a revised exterior design inspired by Toyota’s global styling language. The front fascia features a redesigned grille, a prominent chrome accent across the upper section and a larger lower air intake.
A sportier front bumper and redesigned side skirts contribute to the hatchback’s updated appearance.
Other exterior elements include LED projector headlamps, LED daytime running lights, automatic headlights with welcome-home functionality, LED rear combination lamps, chrome door handles, a floating-roof visual treatment and a rear window wiper.
Toyota has also expanded the exterior colour palette to seven choices, adding two new shades: Bluish Black and Digital Teal Green.
The remaining colours are Cafe White, Enticing Silver, Gaming Grey, Sportin Red and Insta Blue.

New 1.2-Litre Petrol Engine and CNG Automatic Transmission
Under the bonnet, the updated Toyota Glanza receives a new-generation 1.2-litre, three-cylinder Z12E petrol engine producing 61 kW (approximately 82 hp) and 112.4 Nm of torque.
The CNG powertrain develops 51.3 kW (approximately 69 hp) and 101.8 Nm of torque.
One of the more notable mechanical developments is the introduction of an AMT option for CNG variants. This combination allows customers to choose a factory-fitted CNG powertrain without the need to operate a manual gearbox.
It could prove particularly relevant to urban commuters who prioritise lower running costs but would prefer to leave clutch operation out of their daily routine.
Toyota has announced the following fuel-efficiency figures for the petrol variants:
- Manual transmission: 23.80 km/l
- AMT transmission: 24.77 km/l
The manufacturer has not specified CNG fuel-efficiency figures in its launch announcement.
Ventilated Seats, Head-Up Display and Enhanced Cabin Comfort
Inside, the new Glanza receives a revised cabin with dual-tone interiors and additional convenience equipment.
Among the headline additions are ventilated front seats and a wireless smartphone charger with cooling functionality, both aimed at improving comfort in everyday driving conditions.
The equipment list also includes a head-up display, automatic climate control, rear AC vents, a leather-wrapped steering wheel and steering-mounted controls.
Other features include tilt and telescopic steering adjustment, a height-adjustable driver’s seat, cruise control, keyless entry with push-button start, power windows, a rear defogger and 60:40 split-folding rear seats.
Multiple USB and Type-C charging ports provide further convenience for passengers.
The expanded equipment package reflects the growing importance of comfort features in India’s hatchback segment, where buyers increasingly expect their cars to offer more than basic transportation.
9-Inch Infotainment System and Toyota i-Connect Technology
The 2026 Glanza features Toyota’s Smart Playcast Pro infotainment system with a 22.86 cm (9-inch) display supporting Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
The system is complemented by a Clarion audio system.
Toyota’s i-Connect connected-car platform provides access to several remote functions, including vehicle locking and unlocking, vehicle health monitoring, safety alerts, geofencing and service-related information.
The system also supports smartwatch connectivity and voice-assistance compatibility.
Together, these features extend the Glanza’s digital functionality beyond the touchscreen, allowing owners to access certain vehicle functions remotely.
Level 2 ADAS Makes Its Debut on the New Glanza
One of the biggest developments for the 2026 Toyota Glanza is the introduction of Level 2 ADAS technology.
According to Toyota, the system includes Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Keeping Assist, Lane Departure Warning, Lane Departure Prevention, Autonomous Emergency Braking and High Beam Assist.
These technologies are designed to support drivers by assisting with speed management, lane positioning and collision avoidance. However, they do not replace the driver’s responsibility to remain attentive and in control of the vehicle.
The safety package also includes six airbags, Vehicle Stability Control, Hill Hold Control, Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD) and a Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS).
Additional safety equipment includes an emergency stop signal, a 360-degree camera, rear parking sensors and ISOFIX child-seat anchorages.
Toyota has also listed front seatbelts with pretensioners and force limiters, seatbelt reminders and Emergency Locking Retractor (ELR) seatbelts among the vehicle’s safety provisions.
The introduction of driver-assistance technology is particularly significant as manufacturers continue to expand advanced safety equipment into smaller and more affordable vehicle categories.

Financing options will be available through Toyota Financial Services and other financial institutions.
Toyota Glanza 2026 Price and Availability
The 2026 Toyota Glanza starts at ₹6,99,000 (ex-showroom) and will be offered in petrol and CNG configurations with multiple grades and transmission options.
Bookings commence on October 15, 2026, for ₹11,000, while customer deliveries are expected to begin during the first week of November.
Toyota has not provided a complete variant-wise price list in the launch announcement.
A More Technology-Focused Entry Into the Hatchback Market
Since its introduction in 2019, the Glanza has served as an entry point into Toyota’s passenger-car portfolio in India. The latest iteration brings a broader range of safety, connectivity and comfort features while retaining the emphasis on fuel-efficient everyday mobility.
The addition of Level 2 ADAS and an automatic CNG option is especially noteworthy, combining technologies intended to address two different customer priorities: safety and running costs.
Ultimately, the 2026 Glanza reflects a wider shift in the Indian passenger-car market. Hatchbacks are no longer competing solely on affordability and mileage; technology, convenience and safety are becoming increasingly important in purchase decisions.
For Toyota, the challenge will be translating this expanded equipment list into sustained customer interest in a market where even affordable hatchbacks are expected to deliver considerably more than they once did.
