Jeep Wrangler Rubicon Whitecap Edition Sold Out at ₹73.55 Lakh; Deliveries Begin in October

Pune: Jeep India has announced that all 25 units of the limited-edition Wrangler Rubicon Whitecap allocated to the Indian market have been sold ahead of its official launch. Priced at ₹73.55 lakh (ex-showroom), the special-edition SUV attracted sufficient demand to exhaust its entire allocation before deliveries, which are scheduled to begin by the end of October 2026.

The Whitecap Edition is part of a global production run associated with just 250 owners worldwide, according to Jeep. With only 25 examples allocated to India, it ranks among the rarest Wrangler editions offered in the country.

The sell-out comes during Jeep India’s 10th anniversary year and coincides with the brand’s celebration of 85 years of heritage, adding a historical dimension to an already exclusive offering.

Inspired by the Original Jeep CJ-Universal

The Wrangler Rubicon Whitecap Edition draws its visual inspiration from the historic Jeep CJ-Universal, particularly its distinctive Arctic White roof. The design pays tribute to an earlier generation of Jeep vehicles while retaining the mechanical capability and familiar appearance of the modern Wrangler Rubicon.

Offered exclusively in Mojito Green, the Whitecap Edition features a contrasting Bright White painted hardtop roof and Bright White seven-slot grille.

Exclusive exterior graphics and Whitecap-specific detailing further distinguish the limited-run model from the standard Wrangler Rubicon.

The contrasting green-and-white combination gives the SUV an unmistakably retro appearance, although the vehicle underneath remains firmly rooted in the modern Wrangler family.

While many limited editions rely primarily on badges and decorative additions, Jeep has used the Whitecap’s historical styling references to establish a more direct connection with its past.

Jeep India Responds to Complete Sell-Out

Commenting on the response, Kumar Priyesh, Business Head & Director – Automotive Brands, Stellantis India, said:

“The response to the Wrangler Rubicon Whitecap Edition has been exceptional and further demonstrates the strong emotional connection Indian customers share with the Jeep brand. Whitecap was conceived as a limited-production collector’s edition, inspired by Jeep’s iconic design DNA and created for customers who value exclusivity and distinction.”

He attributed the sell-out to the enduring appeal of the Wrangler and growing interest among Indian enthusiasts in rare Jeep vehicles.

The company believes the response reflects demand for limited-production premium SUVs that combine distinctive styling, established heritage and off-road capability.

However, the allocation of just 25 vehicles means the sell-out represents demand for a particularly small production run rather than a broader measure of India’s premium SUV market.

Could the Wrangler Whitecap Return to India?

Despite the complete sell-out, Jeep has indicated that the Whitecap Edition’s Indian story may not necessarily end with these 25 vehicles.

Priyesh said the strong customer response had encouraged the company to consider bringing the distinctive version of the Wrangler back to India in the future.

“The complete sell-out of the Whitecap Edition during Jeep India’s 10th anniversary year is a powerful endorsement of the strength of the Wrangler nameplate and the growing maturity of India’s premium adventure SUV market.”

While the company has expressed interest in exploring a possible return, it has not announced additional allocations, a new production batch or a timeline for another Indian introduction.

For now, the original 25-unit allocation remains the only confirmed batch for India.

Price and Delivery Details

The Jeep Wrangler Rubicon Whitecap Edition was offered in India at an ex-showroom price of ₹73.55 lakh.

Deliveries are scheduled to commence through authorised Jeep dealerships across India by the end of October 2026.

The limited-edition model combines the Wrangler Rubicon’s established off-road credentials with its heritage-inspired exterior treatment. Jeep has not detailed any mechanical modifications specific to the Whitecap Edition in its announcement.

Limited Editions Find Their Place in India’s Premium SUV Market

The Whitecap Edition’s sell-out illustrates how exclusivity and historical design references can influence purchasing decisions among enthusiasts of established automotive nameplates.

For Jeep, the exercise also demonstrates the potential of carefully targeted special editions in India, particularly when they draw upon recognisable elements of the brand’s history.

The Wrangler has long been associated with open-air motoring and off-road exploration, and the Whitecap Edition adds a degree of visual nostalgia to that identity.

With all 25 examples already allocated, prospective buyers will have to see whether Jeep eventually introduces another batch. The company has left that possibility open, although no further plans have been confirmed.

Ultimately, the Wrangler Rubicon Whitecap Edition highlights a distinctive corner of India’s premium automotive market, where heritage, rarity and individuality can matter as much as equipment or performance. For its 25 Indian buyers, exclusivity is now part of the ownership experience.
