Kochi: Stellantis India delivered 125 Citroën and Jeep SUVs to customers across Kerala as part of its Onam celebrations, combining the traditional festive-season rush for new purchases with coordinated vehicle handovers through its dealer network in the state.
The deliveries covered models from both brands, including the Citroën Basalt SUV Coupe, Aircross SUV, C3 and ë-C3, as well as the Jeep Compass, Meridian and Wrangler.
Customers and their families joined dealership teams and brand representatives for the handover events, which were organised during Onam, one of Kerala’s most significant festivals.
For automakers, festivals have long been an important period for new vehicle purchases in India, and Onam is particularly significant for Kerala’s retail market. Stellantis sought to make the occasion more elaborate than the usual exchange of keys and paperwork, incorporating festive décor, cultural elements inspired by Onam traditions and personalised vehicle delivery ceremonies.
Speaking on the occasion Kumar Priyesh, Business Head & Director, Automotive Brands, Stellantis India, said: “Onam is a festival that celebrates togetherness, prosperity and new beginnings, making it a particularly meaningful occasion for customers taking delivery of their new vehicles. We are delighted to celebrate this festive season with 125 Citroën and Jeep customers across Kerala as they begin a new chapter in their mobility journey.”
“The overwhelming response reflects the trust customers place in our brands and our commitment to delivering products that resonate with diverse customer aspirations. Whether it is the adventurous spirit of Jeep or the comfort-centric philosophy of Citroën, both brands are united by a common focus on creating memorable ownership experiences.”
The company said the deliveries reflected demand across a varied range of customer requirements, from urban commuting and family travel to premium and adventure-oriented SUV ownership.
Jeep’s line-up in India includes SUVs aimed at customers looking for capability and premium positioning, while Citroën has focused on comfort, distinctive styling and practical mobility through models spanning conventional internal-combustion vehicles and the electric ë-C3.
The 125-vehicle handover also highlights how manufacturers and dealerships are increasingly using major festivals to create more personalised delivery experiences. After all, taking home a new SUV is already an occasion; adding Onam festivities merely gives the family photo album a little more work to do.
For Stellantis India, the Kerala deliveries provide an opportunity to strengthen the visibility of both Citroën and Jeep during an important festive buying period, while illustrating the continuing importance of regional celebrations in India’s highly diverse automotive market.
