MG Motor India Opens ₹21,000 Pre-Reservations for New 7-Seater Electric SUV

Gurugram: JSW MG Motor India has released the first teaser of its upcoming 7-seater electric SUV, confirming that the new model will make its India debut on August 26. The vehicle will be the company’s first product based on the ADAPT platform and takes design inspiration from an iconic Allied fighter aircraft of World War II.

The automaker has also opened pre-reservations for the electric SUV. Interested customers can reserve the vehicle through the company’s official website by paying ₹21,000.

While JSW MG Motor India has yet to reveal the SUV in full, the teaser offers a glimpse of selected exterior design elements while deliberately keeping the overall silhouette under wraps. For now, the camouflage is doing almost as much work as the engineering team.

According to the company, the upcoming model will feature a bold and distinctive design character. Detailed specifications, including battery capacity, driving range, power output, charging capability and equipment levels, have not yet been announced.

The SUV is notable for being the first vehicle developed on JSW MG Motor India’s ADAPT platform, marking the beginning of a new product architecture for the automaker in India. The company has not disclosed further technical details about the platform in the teaser announcement.

Its seven-seat configuration will also position the forthcoming model as a larger offering within JSW MG Motor India’s growing new-energy vehicle portfolio.

The company said the vehicle draws inspiration from “one of the most iconic Allied fighter aircraft of World War II”, though it has not yet officially disclosed the aircraft’s name. More details are expected when the SUV is formally unveiled later this month.

The new model will further expand JSW MG Motor India’s NEV portfolio as the company continues to introduce electrified vehicles aimed at a wider range of Indian buyers.

With the India debut scheduled for August 26, attention will now turn to the SUV’s battery and range figures, features, pricing and positioning. Those details will ultimately determine whether its aviation-inspired character translates into something more important on Indian roads: a convincing electric family SUV.
