Mahindra Sells 60,393 SUVs in June 2026; Exports Jump 125%

Mumbai: Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. reported total vehicle sales of 1,06,207 units in June 2026, registering a 37% year-on-year increase, including exports, as strong demand for SUVs, light commercial vehicles and three-wheelers helped the automaker close the month on a high note.

In the domestic utility vehicles segment, Mahindra sold 60,393 units in June 2026, up 28% from 47,306 units in the same month last year. Including exports, the company’s overall utility vehicle sales stood at 61,504 units.

The company’s domestic commercial vehicle performance also remained strong. Sales of light commercial vehicles below 3.5 tonnes stood at 26,076 units, growing 35% year-on-year. Within this, LCVs below 2 tonnes rose 36% to 3,508 units, while LCVs in the 2-tonne to 3.5-tonne category grew 35% to 22,568 units.

Three-wheelers, including electric three-wheelers, posted one of the sharpest gains of the month. Sales rose 63% to 13,820 units in June 2026, compared with 8,454 units a year earlier — a reminder that the last-mile mobility business is no longer quietly sitting in the corner of the sales chart.

Exports also delivered a strong performance, more than doubling to 5,918 units in June 2026 from 2,634 units in June 2025, marking a 125% increase.

According to Nalinikanth Gollagunta, CEO, Automotive Division, M&M Ltd., “In June we achieved SUV sales of 60,393 units and LCV <3.5T segment sales of 26,076 units delivering robust growth of 28% and 35%, respectively. The total vehicle sales stood at 1,06,207, a 37% YoY growth reflecting all-round demand traction across the portfolio.”

For the year-to-date period ending June 2026, Mahindra’s domestic utility vehicle sales stood at 1,74,745 units, up 15% from 1,52,067 units in the corresponding period last year. LCVs below 2 tonnes rose 28% to 9,982 units, while the 2-tonne to 3.5-tonne LCV category grew 19% to 63,600 units.

Three-wheeler sales for the year-to-date period reached 36,255 units, up 76% from 20,559 units a year ago. Exports during the same period increased 64% to 15,888 units, compared with 9,661 units in the previous year.

Mahindra said the total vehicle sales figure of 1,06,207 units includes SUVs, LCVs below 3.5 tonnes, three-wheelers and export volumes. The company also noted that utility vehicle sales include volumes from subsidiary Mahindra Electric Automobile Limited, while some sales include volumes from Mahindra Last Mile Mobility Limited. Sales in the relevant LCV category also include the Bolero Maxx PUP HD 1.9 and HD 2.0.

The June numbers underline Mahindra’s continued strength in SUVs and small commercial vehicles, two segments that have become increasingly important in India’s automotive market. With exports and last-mile mobility also gaining pace, the company’s performance suggests that demand is not confined to one corner of the showroom — even if SUVs remain the star attraction.
