New Range Rover Evoque Autobiography Arrives in India, Dressed to Impress and Ready to Confess (Your Love)

Mumbai – Just when you thought luxury SUVs couldn’t get any posher, Range Rover steps in with a gentle ahem and drops the all-new Evoque Autobiography into India’s lap — with more features than your last five phones combined and a price tag that says, “Yes, I do yoga on weekends and sip my espresso in silence.”

Priced at ₹69.50 lakh (ex-showroom), the Evoque Autobiography is not just a compact SUV — it’s a runway model with mud in its veins. It’s available with two powertrain options: the P250 Petrol Mild Hybrid (184 kW, 365 Nm) for those who prefer their acceleration served smooth, and the D200 Diesel Mild Hybrid (150 kW, 430 Nm) for the torque junkies who think fuel efficiency and power should coexist like a zen garden with turbochargers.

But let’s talk fashion. On the outside, you get Pixel LED headlights that stare into your soul, a sliding panoramic roof for sunlit selfies, and 19-inch alloy wheels that seem to whisper, “Don’t worry, potholes fear me.” It even has a powered tailgate — because, naturally, your hands are full with artisanal coffee and your Labrador named Bentley.

Inside, the Evoque is less car and more cocoon. The cabin boasts a Full Extended Leather Upgrade, Suedecloth headliner, and Shadow Grey Ash veneer — which sounds less like a dashboard and more like the interior of a Scandinavian spa. The 14-way adjustable front seats are heated, cooled, and probably more self-aware than most teenagers.

Infotainment? Oh, you mean your mobile theatre. The 11.4-inch touchscreen runs JLR’s Pivi Pro system, paired with a Meridian™ Surround Sound System that’s capable of making traffic jams feel like jazz lounges. There’s also wireless device charging, an interactive driver display, and more safety systems than a Bond car – including a Driver Condition Monitor, TPMS, and sensors that probably know when you’ve had a bad day.

Speaking at the launch, Rajan Amba, MD of JLR India, said, “The Autobiography trim on the Evoque is like wearing a tuxedo to a brunch – entirely unnecessary, and yet, absolutely perfect.” He didn’t actually say that, but he did describe it as a “sanctuary on wheels,” which is posh-speak for “you’ll never want to leave.”

If James Bond had a little sibling who preferred the club to the casino and a yoga mat to a martini, the new Range Rover Evoque Autobiography would be their ride of choice. Equal parts opulence and off-road capability, it’s a gentle reminder that sometimes, luxury is the destination.
