Mumbai – Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (M&M Ltd.), one of India’s premier automotive manufacturers, continues its upward trajectory with a robust performance in February 2025. The company reported total auto sales of 83,702 vehicles, marking a 15% year-on-year growth, bolstered by strong demand across its SUV and commercial vehicle segments.
The highlight of the month was Mahindra’s SUV segment, which recorded domestic sales of 50,420 units, reflecting a 19% growth. Including exports, the total SUV sales stood at 52,386 units, reinforcing Mahindra’s dominant position in the Indian SUV market.
Meanwhile, Mahindra’s commercial vehicle (CV) segment also contributed significantly, with 23,826 units sold in the domestic market.
SUV Demand Driving Mahindra’s Success
Veejay Nakra, President of the Automotive Division at M&M Ltd., attributed this impressive performance to the sustained momentum in Mahindra’s SUV portfolio.
“In February, we clocked SUV sales of 50,420, a growth of 19%, and total vehicle sales of 83,702, marking a 15% growth. This strong performance is a result of continued positive traction for our SUVs,” Nakra stated.
The company’s SUVs, known for their robust design, advanced features, and strong off-road capabilities, continue to attract Indian buyers. Flagship models like the Scorpio-N, XUV700, and Thar remain in high demand, while newer models have further strengthened Mahindra’s position in the highly competitive segment.
Looking Ahead: Sustaining the Growth Momentum
With a strong start to 2025, Mahindra is expected to maintain its growth trajectory, leveraging its expanding SUV lineup and increasing production capacity to meet rising demand. Industry analysts suggest that Mahindra’s focus on electric mobility and advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) technology could further drive its market leadership in the coming months.
As Mahindra continues to push boundaries in design, innovation, and performance, the Indian auto giant is well-positioned to capitalize on the evolving automotive landscape. The company’s upcoming launches and strategic initiatives will be closely watched as it aims for another milestone year.
