Curvv.ev Achieves 20 National Records, Showcases India’s Expanding EV Infrastructure
Kanyakumari: TATA.ev, India’s leading 4-wheeler EV manufacturer and a pioneer in the country’s electric vehicle (EV) revolution, has set a groundbreaking milestone. The Curvv.ev, India’s first SUV coupe, has officially recorded the fastest EV drive from Kashmir to Kanyakumari, covering an impressive 3,823 km in just 76 hours and 35 minutes. This achievement surpasses the previous record held by the Nexon EV MAX by over 19 hours, setting a new benchmark in the Indian EV sector.
Beyond the record-breaking feat, the Curvv.ev set an additional 20 national records during its journey, reaffirming the advancements in India’s EV landscape and infrastructure.

Charging Efficiency Redefined
The Curvv.ev accomplished this incredible journey with only 16 charging stops. Thanks to improvements in charging technology and network expansion, the average charging time was reduced significantly from 28 hours to just 17 hours. This efficiency highlights the rapid progress of India’s public charging infrastructure, with a growing presence of high-speed charging stations along national highways.
Flagged off ceremonially in Srinagar by Hon’ble Chief Minister of Jammu & Kashmir, Omar Abdullah, the Curvv.ev embarked on its journey at 4:00 AM on 25th February 2025. The all-electric SUV coupe braved diverse weather conditions, varied terrains, and navigated through India’s expanding EV charging network to reach Kanyakumari at 8:35 AM on 28th February 2025. The vehicle was received by Thiru. Vijay Vasanth, Member of Parliament, Kanyakumari, marking the successful completion of this monumental feat.
Revolutionizing Long-Distance EV Travel
Speaking on this landmark achievement, Vivek Srivatsa, Chief Commercial Officer, Tata Passenger Electric Mobility Ltd., stated, “We embarked on this non-stop journey to demonstrate that long intercity travel with an EV is not only feasible but also seamless, efficient, and comfortable. By covering approximately 1,200 km daily, the Curvv.ev—powered by the cutting-edge acti.ev pure EV architecture and a robust 55 kWh battery—made this endurance challenge smooth and fatigue-free for the occupants.”
He further highlighted the vast improvement in charging infrastructure, with over 18,000 public charging points now operational across India. The Curvv.ev’s journey showcased how nearly every district along the 10 states and union territories it traversed had access to fast-charging stations, significantly reducing range anxiety and promoting EV adoption.
“This accomplishment underscores the fact that a Tata EV can now undertake long journeys on par with an internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicle, eliminating concerns about charging infrastructure and maximizing both comfort and cost efficiency. Beating our own record by 19 hours demonstrates the remarkable progress of EV technology and infrastructure. We believe that this showcase by the Curvv.ev will further encourage consumers to embrace zero-emission mobility,” added Srivatsa.
Electrifying India’s EV Evolution
India’s EV infrastructure has evolved dramatically since the last record run. The optimal travel route for an EV has improved significantly, reducing detours for charging stops. Compared to the Nexon.ev’s 4,004 km route in 2023, the Curvv.ev completed the journey in just 3,823 km, thanks to an increased number of strategically located charging stations.
Some key developments in India’s EV infrastructure include:
- A 227% increase in public charging points since 2023, with over 18,000 chargers now operational.
- The addition of high-powered 60-120 kW chargers across key highways.
- 85% of national highways now featuring a fast charger every 50 km.
- Enhanced user experience with the iRA.ev app’s charge point aggregator, mapping over 12,000 charging points with efficient route planning.
- Introduction of the .ev Verified Charger program, ensuring reliable charging with rated stations based on efficiency and available amenities.
- The TATA.ev Unified RFID card, which simplifies charging access by eliminating the need for multiple applications from different charge point operators (CPOs).
A Future-Ready EV for India
The Curvv.ev’s successful Kashmir-to-Kanyakumari journey further cements TATA.ev’s commitment to advancing India’s EV ecosystem. By integrating cutting-edge technology, improved battery efficiency, and a robust charging network, the brand is setting new benchmarks for sustainable mobility.
India’s first SUV coupe, the Curvv.ev, is now available at Tata Motors dealerships and TATA.ev stores, with prices starting at INR 17.49 lakh. This record-breaking achievement not only marks a new era for EV travel but also reinforces India’s position as a global leader in sustainable mobility.
With this electrifying feat, the Curvv.ev has not only redefined long-distance EV travel but also ignited a new wave of confidence among prospective EV buyers, making zero-emission mobility an undeniable reality.
