Gurugram, November 8, 2024 – In a powerful showcase of resilience and innovation, JSW MG Motor India, in partnership with The Better India, has launched the fifth season of its celebrated ‘MG Changemakers’ initiative. This season, themed “#UnchartedRoads – Fearless Women, Inspiring Journeys,” highlights six extraordinary women who have broken social, physical, and professional barriers to bring about meaningful change.
Since its inception, MG Changemakers has spotlighted leaders who are not only challenging norms but also empowering communities across India. With its focus on women pioneers, this season showcases individuals who are paving uncharted paths in fields ranging from human rights to electric mobility, sports, and mountaineering.
Among the honorees is Hasina Kharbhih, who has dedicated her life to combating human trafficking, saving over 72,000 lives to date. Vasudha Madhavan, founder of India’s first investment bank focused on electric mobility and sustainability, Ostara Advisors, has created a unique platform for sustainable development in finance. Niharika Nair has empowered 1,200 tribal people by helping them access vital government schemes, including initiatives for solar cooking solutions in remote areas. Other trailblazers include Diana Pundole, the first Indian woman to secure a national motorsports championship, and Mala Honnatti, a 69-year-old who continues to defy age by scaling global mountain peaks and running marathons. Gitika Talukdar, as India’s first female sports photographer to cover the Olympics, has inspired countless women to pursue careers in sports media.
JSW MG Motor India’s Managing Director, Biju Balendran, expressed the program’s mission: “MG Changemakers embodies our brand pillars of diversity, innovation, and community. It’s an honor to celebrate these women who have pushed the boundaries of societal norms and sparked progress through sheer determination and vision.”
Dhimant Parekh, Founder and CEO of The Better India, underscored the importance of the partnership, “These women are not only changemakers but also pioneers in their fields, breaking stereotypes and redefining resilience. We are proud to support MG Changemakers in spotlighting such inspiring stories and reinforcing India’s progress toward an inclusive future.”
Now in its fifth year, MG Changemakers has evolved through diverse themes, from highlighting women challenging conventions to innovators addressing complex issues. Last season’s focus on sustainability included recognition for projects like the Jal Saheli initiative, which addresses water access in rural communities.
Through a newly launched microsite with The Better India, audiences across the country can now engage with these stories and book unique experiences inspired by the journeys of MG Changemakers.
Each of these women is a symbol of resilience and inspiration, blazing paths for others to follow and reminding us that even the boldest dreams are within reach.
