Etihad Airways Expands Fleet with Three Advanced Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners

In a sky-high celebration, Etihad Airways is all set to welcome a trio of Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners, affectionately termed ‘Techno-Wonders’, to its fleet this weekend. The national carrier of the UAE is spreading its wings with these new arrivals at Abu Dhabi Zayed International Airport, marking a significant milestone in its ambitious journey towards a dazzling future.

The state-of-the-art Dreamliners, known for their stylish cabin interiors, are the latest recruits in Etihad’s grand ‘Journey 2030’ growth plan. The plan envisions a fleet of over 160 aircraft, flying high to 125 destinations. With these new additions, Etihad now boasts a modern, youthful fleet of 88 aircraft.

Antonoaldo Neves, the enthusiastic Chief Executive Officer of Etihad Airways, couldn’t hide his excitement. “These brand-new, cutting-edge Boeing 787 Dreamliners are not just planes; they are our dreams taking flight from Abu Dhabi. Their arrival is perfectly timed with our expansion strategy, adding new destinations and boosting key markets. They’re not just aircraft; they’re ambassadors, welcoming guests to experience the wonders of Abu Dhabi, whether as their final destination or a memorable stopover,” he said.

The Dreamliners are ready to spread their wings, with Etihad launching new routes to Boston, Nairobi, and Bali, and seasonal flights to Nice, Malaga, Mykonos, and Santorini. These additions follow the recent expansion to Osaka, Copenhagen, Dusseldorf, and the Kerala region in India.

Fuel efficiency is at the heart of these Dreamliners, boasting up to 25% more fuel efficiency compared to similar-sized aircraft. Etihad’s fleet now includes 43 Dreamliners, along with a variety of Airbus and Boeing models.

Passengers are in for a treat with Etihad’s new 787 Dreamliner cabin interiors. The Business Class features the unique Elements seat by Collins, making Etihad the world’s first airline to introduce this on a Boeing 787. With spacious Business Suites, lie-flat beds, and a host of modern amenities, luxury takes on a new meaning.

Economy Class isn’t left behind, with lighter, more fuel-efficient seats, extra legroom options, and an enhanced feeling of space. The latest in-flight entertainment from Safran, high-speed Wi-Fi, and live TV options ensure that passengers stay connected and entertained throughout their journey.

As Etihad Airways sets its sights on the future, these three new Dreamliners symbolize more than just aircraft; they represent ambition, innovation, and a commitment to an exceptional flying experience.
