New Delhi, 1st September 2024 — Kia India continues to solidify its presence in the Indian automotive market, reporting a remarkable 17.19% year-on-year growth in August 2024. The company dispatched an impressive 22,523 units domestically, up from 19,219 units in the same month last year, demonstrating robust demand across its product lineup.
At the forefront of this success is the Kia Sonet, which has become a favorite among Indian consumers. The compact SUV dominated the sales chart, with 10,073 units sold in August, making it the best-selling model in Kia’s portfolio. Following closely was the Kia Seltos, with 6,536 units sold, while the Carens and the EV6 also contributed significantly, recording sales of 5,881 and 33 units, respectively.
Kia India’s export operations also reflected positive momentum, with 2,604 units shipped to international markets in August. The strong performance underscores the global appeal of Kia’s ‘Make in India’ models.
Commenting on the achievement, Hardeep Singh Brar, Senior Vice President and National Head of Sales & Marketing, expressed gratitude for the continued trust and confidence placed in the Kia brand by its customers. “Our consistent growth is a direct result of our commitment to delivering value-driven and innovative vehicles that cater to the evolving needs and aspirations of Indian consumers,” Brar stated.
Looking ahead, Kia India is poised for further expansion, with plans to introduce the globally acclaimed EV9 and the new Carnival to the Indian market. The company also recently celebrated a major milestone, surpassing 1 million units sold in just 59 months of operations, setting new standards in safety, design, and innovation.
