Miura P400, Countach LP 400, Countach 25th, and Diablo GT Star in Cernobbio
Sant’Agata Bolognese, 27 May 2024 – Four legendary Lamborghini models made a grand appearance at the 2024 Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este, one of the world’s most prestigious classic car events. This year’s edition featured a stunning lineup from Lamborghini, marking the increasing recognition of the brand’s historic vehicles. The display included a 1967 Miura P400, a 1976 Countach LP 400, a Countach 25th Anniversary, and a 1999 Diablo GT, each representing the pinnacle of automotive excellence from different eras.
The 1967 Miura P400, showcased in Class D “Faster! The Arms Race On The Road,” was a centerpiece of admiration. This car, originally delivered to the United States, has undergone a meticulous restoration and is in the process of receiving certification from Polo Storico Lamborghini.
In Class H, “The Need For Speed: Supercar Stars of The Video Generation,” the 1976 Countach LP 400 stood out with its iconic Viola (purple) exterior and Bianco (white) interior. This model captivated the jury, winning the ‘il Canto del Motore’ trophy for the best engine sound.
The Countach 25th Anniversary model, celebrated for its unique Arancio (orange) exterior and Champagne interior, was another highlight. This car, one of the few right-hand drive versions, was specially commissioned to match the color of its owner’s first Countach.
Making its debut at Villa d’Este, the 1999 Diablo GT captivated both the judges and the young audience. The car, featuring a Titanium Silver exterior and Alcantara Blu interior, was awarded the ‘BMW Group Ragazzi’ trophy, chosen by attendees under 16 as the most iconic car.
Alessandro Farmeschi, Lamborghini’s After Sales Director, emphasized the significance of these models and the growing appreciation for Lamborghini’s classic cars. “The certification process by Polo Storico not only verifies the authenticity and history of these cars but also highlights the meticulous work of our specialists, which is increasingly recognized by collectors,” Farmeschi noted.
The presence of these four masterpieces at Villa d’Este underscored Lamborghini’s rich heritage and the timeless allure of its V12-engine models. Each car’s unique story and impeccable condition were a testament to Lamborghini’s enduring legacy in the world of high-performance automobiles.
