Healing Touch Across Heartlands: Hyundai’s Sparsh Sanjeevani Bridges Healthcare Divide for 1.5 Million

Gurugram, April 5, 2024 – In a groundbreaking move towards universal healthcare access, Hyundai Motor India Foundation’s (HMIF) Sparsh Sanjeevani initiative has dramatically transformed the healthcare landscape for over 1.5 million people across seven Indian states. This initiative, running since 2021, marries modern telemedicine with mobile medical units, bringing quality healthcare to the doorsteps of rural populations, thereby aligning with Hyundai’s vision of ‘Progress for Humanity’.

Pioneered by HMIF, the corporate social responsibility wing of Hyundai Motor India Limited, Sparsh Sanjeevani has become a beacon of hope, especially for those in remote areas deprived of basic healthcare services. By deploying 35 telemedicine clinics and mobile medical units across states like Haryana, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, and more, the initiative has not only saved communities a cumulative 16.5 lakh kilometres of travel but has also curtailed over INR 16 Crores in medical expenses.

Mr. Puneet Anand, of Hyundai Motor India, reflects on the initiative’s success, emphasizing its role in easing the healthcare burden on rural communities and contributing to the nation’s overall development. With plans to expand this model into additional regions, HMIF aims to deepen its impact, promising a healthier future for many more.

Sparsh Sanjeevani stands out by offering comprehensive healthcare through two main channels: Telemedicine Centres for remote consultations and Mobile Medical Units for on-the-ground healthcare delivery. This dual approach ensures that even the most isolated communities have access to specialist care, essential medications, and diagnostic services.

The initiative’s commitment is further underscored by an impressive investment of INR 43.9 Crores over three years, highlighting the significant financial dedication towards enhancing the health and wellbeing of India’s rural populace. By treating common ailments like flu, diabetes, and joint pain, and ensuring an inclusive reach across genders and age groups, Sparsh Sanjeevani is setting a benchmark for accessible healthcare in rural India.
