Mahindra and Adani Plug Into the Future: A Shocking Alliance to Electrify India’s Roads

Mumbai, March 21, 2024: Mahindra & Mahindra, the giant of the Indian SUV market, and Adani Total Energies E-Mobility Limited (ATEL), a subsidiary fully powered by Adani Total Gas Limited, have sparked a revolutionary collaboration aimed at supercharging India’s journey into the electric vehicle (EV) era. The signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) today marks a significant milestone in the country’s drive towards a more sustainable and greener future, perfectly aligning with India’s bold climate action aspirations.

This electrifying partnership outlines a strategy for setting up an extensive network of EV charging stations across India, a move that promises to juice up the EV market significantly. Additionally, the alliance aims to roll out state-of-the-art e-mobility solutions, ensuring Mahindra’s XUV400 customers and other EV enthusiasts can easily discover, navigate, and use over 1100 chargers via the Bluesense+ App. This initiative is expected to greatly enhance the EV charging experience, bringing unprecedented convenience and accessibility to Mahindra EV owners.

Veejay Nakra, the driving force behind Mahindra’s Automotive Division, expressed his excitement about the alliance, saying, “We’re supercharged to team up with Adani Total Energies. This partnership lays the foundation stone for a robust EV charging infrastructure, propelling our customers into a future where charging is seamless, and the EV experience is electrifying. Our commitment to amplifying the customer experience through a diverse partner network is key to sparking a revolution in the adoption of electric vehicles.”

Suresh P Manglani, Adani Total Gas Ltd.’s Executive Director & CEO, echoed this sentiment, stating, “Joining forces with M&M in the charging infrastructure domain is a critical step forward in expanding our footprint in the EV landscape. This collaboration will power up customer confidence in EV technology, steering us closer to our energy transition goals. Together, we’re charging ahead to reduce carbon emissions and help India meet its climate targets.”
